Thinking of you—and knowing you are smiling down on the strength of Trish and Ashton over the past nine years. I feel so honored to have met them. My thoughts are always with them as they miss you so much.
I didn't know you. But your actions speak of great courage, the kind that great people have. God bless you and your family. I know you're watching over them from heaven.
Only the good die young, I heard once. And you were the best.
Mr. Cortez Ghee was my uncle, and he has truly been missed. I would like to attend the event at the Pentagon and bring his great niece and nephew, but our family never got invited. His mother’s name is Louise Ghee, and she is 85 years old, and she also would like to attend. After my uncle passed away, we haven’t been called about any events. I can be contacted at 202-629-3428 or 202-713-1265.
Jedes Mal, wenn ich diese schrecklichen Bilder vom 11.09. sehe, dann fange ich an zu weinen. Mein tiefes Mitgefühl an alle Hinterbliebenen der Opfer! Gott schütze Euch!
[Ed. - Every time I see these terrible pictures from 9-11, I begin to cry. My deep sympathy to all survivors of the victims! May God protect you!]
Betty and Amy were on their own to defend, and went above and beyond the scope of their duties to save the crew and passengers. With Betty finding herself in the middle of the disastrous events on board the aircraft, and both their lives in risk, she remarkably carried out detailed reports calmly, while taking relayed information from Amy’s accounts of the events. This was occurring in closed surroundings dispensed with mace, which lacked oxygen, where chaos was being stirred up by the five hijackers on A.A. Flight 11. Clearly there were many passengers and crew members harmed and several lives lost just a short distance away from Betty while on the air-phone with federal authorities, with the possibility she could have been next. Amid the commotion, with little air to breathe or room to maneuver, Betty professionally reported and rendered aid to passengers in precarious conditions. Nevertheless, she remained smart and calm all the way through to the end, aware of her fate, but never gave up. For 23 minutes she stayed on the air-phone providing vital information to airport authorities. At the cost of her own life, her reports on the hijacking proved invaluable to the authorities and led to better preventive measures to avoid another tragedy as on 9/11 for many years to come. As a flight attendant and first responder to the attacks on our country, your bravery and meritorious service to American Airlines will be in America's highest honor, and America is certainly indebted to you. Peace always be with you.
In her off-duty life, Betty gave much of her time to helping and caring for children and the elderly. Her charisma and charm brought out the best in everyone around her. As a flight attendant, Betty always tirelessly worked to ensure travelers were safe and comforted, and she rarely took breaks.
Thanks to all flight attendants for keeping all of us safe when traveling. Let's face it, while having the freedom to fall back and retreat is an option for law enforcement at ground level if a crisis escalates; it is never an option for flight attendants, however insurmountable the crisis may be. The fact is, until the plane reaches its destination, the responsibility and burden falls exclusively to flight attendants for the traveling public to depend on to resolve any conflict or provide medical aid. The duties involved for flight attendants makes the risks of their work incalculable. They now effectively are put in the role as the police, doctor, nurse, psychiatrist, bomb squad, and referee.
This web site is affiliated with 24K Gold Music Shows - an oldies music showband performing in Central Florida. The members of the showband feel strongly that there were many heroes manifested during the onslaught of terror associated with 9-11, and present this site as a memorial to those whose lives were lost, and the loved ones they left behind.
24K Gold Music Shows perform primarily 50-60s Oldies, Elvis songs, DooWop, and older country music, as well as patriotic songs. All of the musicians, singers, dancers, and staff of the 24K Gold Music Shows extend their deepest sympathies to every one who lost loved ones on that terrible day.
24K Gold Music Shows performs an original 9-11 tribute song called "America Cried". In the live shows, they honor with the song not only the heroes of 9-11 but also those who are still alive: the police personnel, firefighters, emergency personnel, soldiers, and others who have served our country and kept us all safe.
Listen also to this beautiful, touching song "Love Can Build a Bridge" by 24K Gold Music Shows. Even though strictly speaking it's not a 9-11 memorial song, I still feel it is a very fitting song for the occasion!
