Here is a poem I wrote 10 years ago after the tragedy of 9/11. This poem was published in The Country and Abroad.
Ghosts-
In the distance of a whisper.
Always here,
Always between,
Each others sorrow.
Mourning does not diminish
It only seeks a hiding place,
behind walls of fear
We have constructed,
in remembrance of towers,
thought of as forever,
reaching to God,
on a sad September morning,
when for an instant,
time stood still,
peace was shattered
and came tumbling down,
in a torrent of glass tears.
Now, a silent sorrow,
as bare as bone,
screams your names.

After learning that someone who shared my name perished that day has made me remenisce and remeber the tragic moments that led the Terror attacks. Maybe I have never really given this most tragic and sad event considerable thought, I would like to tell the ESPINAL family that survided their beloved JOSE, that since the moment I learned of their loss after hearing the name JOSE ESPINAL read on 09/11/2011, I have not stopped thinking how fortunate I am today. I share the same name, and today I would like to remind us all how fortunate and Bless we are. May JOSE ESPINAL and all other Victims of the 9/11 terror attacks suffered in our country and around the world rest in peace for alltimes.
