Numbness settles, congealing ash
My senses no longer in tune
To the world around me
As evening sets
And reality sets
What happened that crisp clear day
Was no accident
No Act of G-d
No wage of war
No sense or purpose
Stood there, watching, like everyone else
As the second bomb (my God, there are people there)
And my reality exploded
Inside and out
Watching as those towers fell
As my security fell
As my senses fell
As my fences fell
I worked there, just a few months ago
Not long ago
Why wasn't I there that day
Instead of watching it replay
Hour after hour, clip after clip
From every angle,
From every home and office
It still hasn't eased; I thought it would
My senses haven't returned yet
My feelings nonexistent
I don't want to talk about it
Or share my grief
Or pretend I'm ok
O God what happened to me?
And will I ever return to
What was normal?
A month, two months, a year later
Will there still be people down there?
Will I still be down there
Numb, without a care
And do I dare
Dream to feel again
To love again
To want again?
I don't want this anymore
This corpse of cold stone in my shadow
I don't want this fear
Of faceless hate,
Of endless nights
Of fear and hate

I am not your countryman but tears flowed uncontrollably as I watched on TV 9/11/01. Tears flowed even today, 9/11/08 as I viewed the images on my computer. I can only pray for those who suffered and is still suffering today. May God give us all the graces to forgive, to comfort and to totally surrender in His Will.

All of America loves you!
Americaís eye is upon you
To see what you will do
In this time of crisis.
Will you stay down, or will you get up?
America is watching!
Donít let us down,
But let the true heartbeat of America
Cause you to crawl, then walk, then begin to run.
All of America loves you!
You are the apple of our eye!
Youíve got our vote of confidence!
We are depending on you to rise up
From where you are now,
And by Godís help
Be bigger and better than ever before.
Take what was meant for evil and turn it into good
That the world may see by what you do
That God blesses America!
Donít let the enemy say he has smitten you,
But get up! Rise up! And say, God is on our side!
Our God has helped us up.
New York, America loves you!
We really do love you.
Until you were hurt,
You seemed so far away and above us,
But now theyíve injured one of our own.
We claim you. We love you.
Weíre proud of such a grand city.
When they injured you,
It was the same as injuring a motherís child.
We became sad, hurt, and angry,
But, get up, child!
Your mamaís gonna help you to get up and be greater than before!
Because, New York, all of America loves you.
