A good friend and her husband were stranded at the airport in Maine when the airports were shut down during and after 9/11. They live in California, but decided to try and drive. Hertz provided a car for them at no charge. My friend will never rent a car from anyone else but Hertz, ever. I am inclined to do the same. There were so many acts of kindness during those dark days and that was just one of them.

I live in Canada. I watched as the world did in horror at the events on the screen. I too felt at first that it was unbeleiveable. As the reality of it set in I then felt grief like I had never felt before in my life. I sat, stared at the reports and cried along with so many others. I was and still am so very proud at how all of you in the U.S. have handled the worst tragedy ever to befall so many innocent people. We here in Canada are also extremely proud to have such a wonderful, strong and resilient friend in your country. Please know that our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you and all of the people who were and remain affected by the events of 5 years ago. The terrorists couldn't have known how strong the resolve of freedom loving people was going to be. The world stands more united today because of all of you there. I thank you as a friend of your great country for being the people that you are. You have made the world take notice of your grace and fortitude and have instilled in me an appreciation of you and a pride that will never diminish.

Forever and for always,

What a terrible tragedy 9/11 was. I am a mother with a blended family. I am a commuting flight attendant based in D.C. Cee Cee is an inspiration to me. I think of 9/11 every trip I fly. I commend her actions on that tragic day. God bless her boys and family. She will never be forgotten

I, like many others, will never forget exactly where we were that day when we found out about the attacks. For me it was my 10th grade year and I remember turning on the news for background noise when I heard that tower one had been hit. I thought "well, that's weird". I turned around to finish getting ready for school and when I turned back toward to the TV the second tower had been hit and the bottom of the screen read: "America is under attack". I don't think I have ever been so scared. In my PE class we turned on the TV to hear updates and we watched the towers fall to the ground.... I have never heard a class be so silent. A few days later our school put on an assembly. Its a traditon for the classes to fight for who's better, so the senior class would raise their hands and yell "SENIORS, SENIORS" but this time it was different. The entire student body and faculty stood up and yelled "U.S.A, U.S.A" and a high school for a 1300 students began to cry.

I, and everyone else, will always remember the victims and heroes of the tragic events.

I remember that day so well in my mind. Not a day will go by when I won't think of those brave heroes who gave their lives to save so many more. I love you all and my heart and prayers go out to you. September 11, 2001 will not be forgotten. UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL.

Hope

What happened that day
doesn't mean all is lost,
there is still hope to be stronger than ever.
I wish I'd there to say:
Hope will give you the strength to carry on,
I mean it from the bottom of my heart.
Remember: Raise your spirits
and don't give up hope!
GOD BLESS YOU!

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy in New York City. Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. The sponsors of this site are paying all expenses, and are thereby keeping the site free from advertising that would take away from the solemnity of the purpose. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE! Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
