Look to the sky among the clouds
Standing strong and for the world
These twin towers tall and proud.
Their task for all mankind unfurled.
But then there came a dismal day
with hatred of this love made known.
These towers sudden went away,
two knives Into their sides were thrown.
And as we watched first once then twice
We cursed at God in disbelief?
Our blood went cold our skin like ice.
For lovers there was no relief.
The evil of that hour was cast
And with the horrid fire of sin.
With all her will she tried to last
Her strength soon gone, came crashing in.
The other watched, his wound was deep,
His faith was shaken to the core.
Now wanting nothing but to sleep,
He next did fall and was no more.
A storm of noise and choking dust
The death around we cannot see…
Run for your life from sin and save
Their mourning for eternity.
Because the ruin of love from hate,
Men by themselves can barely stand.
Hope and mercy should be our fate
Set on us from His loving hand.
The horror of the day will last,
When lovers fell into dissolve.
But for us now we should stand fast
Stayed upright by this new resolve.
