to: all of the families who lost a loved one to September 11. I know that it has been three years already and to some it might seem like just a bad dream that happened far from us. To you, i just want to say that even though time changes things, your loved ones have not been forgotten. It is people like they were that make me believe in other people. So, thank you from someone who is just learning to be thankful for the sacrifice that they gave.

A Monumental Collapse
I cannot understand what I’m seeing…
An instant,….. a moment in time,
Across my nation,
a tower falling.
Thousands died in that moment.
I cannot even cry,
This is incomprehensible-- Catastrophic.
So many fathers, mothers, sisters,
brothers, sons, daughters,
adults, children, HUMAN BEINGS,
Real people, real lives, real deaths
Not a movie, Not a chance to save the day
So much lost.
As I meet these lost ones…
through their loved ones, their stories,
Now I cry
For each of you, for all of us
These first casualties in the war,
innocent, not knowing,
Drafted by the enemy.
Not the last casualties,
no more innocence.
We will fight.
We will win.
for freedom, for reason, for sanity,
For each other and for our children.
United we stand,
Together we will prevail.
