Sounds of explosion and the smell of gasoline. 43—that is my number. The images flash into my inner soul. I listen and hear the variety of the screams and sirens. I see glimmering shards of glass falling. The smell of gasoline. Building. The fear is real and cumbersome. Paper falling and running. Shards of glass as they fall glisten. I say, "Run, Run!" and I do. Ran for a while and dust comes upon me. 43 stories I had to run down. Through smoke and chaotic turmoil. OK. I wanted to dedicate this to my friend, Chris Palmer. He survived. This is for you, Chris!

All these people didn't deserve to die. You all were amazing people, and not one thing could have ever changed that. "America saw evil September 11, but to this day we still stay strong."

Danny from McFly also wrote a song: It's called "Silence of the City." The lyrics are:

It was Tuesday afternoon.
I got home from work quite soon.
I turned on the TV,
And what did I see?
I saw World War Three
Staring back at me.
I thought I might wake up to reality
There wasn’t gonna be,
Yeah,
And all I could see was
This horrific tragedy.

In the silence of the city
No mobile phones ring.
In the silence of the city
You cannot hear a thing.
In the silence of the city
The smiles are washed away.
In the silence of the city
There’s nothing left to say.

And New York, New York,
So good they named you twice,
The city that never sleeps,
Do you believe your eyes?
And by this act of war,
Big apple is eaten to the core,
And two tall towers
Crumble to the floor,
And Manhattan isn’t there!
It’s there no more!

In the silence of the city
No mobile phones ring.
In the silence of the city
You cannot hear a thing.
In the silence of the city
The smiles are washed away.
In the silence of the city
There’s nothing left to say.

And hardened New York cops
With tears in their eyes,
Tired and worn out fire-fighters,
Hoping to hear cries,
And emergency and medics
Overcome by exhaustion,
And all rescue workers,
Filled with deep emotion.

In the silence of the city
No mobile phones ring.
In the silence of the city
You cannot hear a thing.
In the silence of the city
The smiles are washed away.
In the silence of the city
There’s nothing left to say.

The eleventh of September,
Two thousand and one,
The World Trade Centre
And the U.S. Pentagon—
These pictures that we see
Almost defy belief.
On the streets of New York City,
People are hit by sheer grief.

In the silence of the city
No mobile phones ring.
In the silence of the city
You cannot hear a thing.
In the silence of the city
The smiles are washed away.
In the silence of the city
There’s nothing left to say.

The New York City skyline
We all admired before,
The tall twin towers,
Simply are there no more.

In the silence of the city,
In the silence of the city,
In the silence of the city,
In the silence of the city,
In the silence of the city,
In the silence of the city,
In the silence of the city,
In the silence....

I think when he wrote this he would have been around 15 years old. =D

xx

Post your memorial thoughts:

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy in New York City. Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. The sponsors of this site are paying all expenses, and are thereby keeping the site free from advertising that would take away from the solemnity of the purpose. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE! Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

This web site is affiliated with 24K Gold Music Shows - an oldies music showband performing in Central Florida. The members of the showband feel strongly that there were many heroes manifested during the onslaught of terror associated with 9-11, and present this site as a memorial to those whose lives were lost, and the loved ones they left behind.

24K Gold Music Shows perform primarily 50-60s Oldies, Elvis songs, DooWop, and older country music, as well as patriotic songs. All of the musicians, singers, dancers, and staff of the 24K Gold Music Shows extend their deepest sympathies to every one who lost loved ones on that terrible day.

24K Gold Music Shows performs an original 9-11 tribute song called "America Cried". In the live shows, they honor with the song not only the heroes of 9-11 but also those who are still alive: the police personnel, firefighters, emergency personnel, soldiers, and others who have served our country and kept us all safe.

Listen also to this beautiful, touching song "Love Can Build a Bridge" by 24K Gold Music Shows. Even though strictly speaking it's not a 9-11 memorial song, I still feel it is a very fitting song for the occasion!
