On that faithful day, I wrote a song I would like to share with everyone. Please feel free to share it with anyone you think may like it. It's called "Ashes and Anguish" http://www.myspace.com/johnnygeib

September 11, 2001 by Marie O'Neill

Amid the raging fire,
Within the crumbling site,
Beneath the fallen wreckage
There were angels taking flight.

To those who know no honor,
Faceless cowards of the night,
There's no glory in your madness,
Nothing holy in your fight.

The images of horror
Seared upon our memories
Shall not destroy our love for
All that's decent, just, and free.

Our heroes we'll remember
With awe and gratitude.
Their selflessness and courage
Will inspire us anew.

Amid the raging fire,
Within the crumbling site,
Beneath the fallen wreckage
There were angels taking flight.

On a beautiful cloudless Tuesday morning, our country, our city was crushed. The loss of life was unimaginable. The loss of our beautiful towers, so symbolic of the our city, was gone. To all the heroes who died that day: May God bless you, may you be at peace, and may your families and friends have the strength to go on. God bless you all.

I was only in kindergarten, but I remember that day like it was only yesterday. I remember that my dad came and got me out of school, and he took me home, and then, after we ate lunch, he told me that my mom had been killed in a "bad person" attack. Only I didn't know till I was in the third grade that it was terrorists that took my mother's life from her. But not only did they take her life, but also my unborn little sister's. I will NEVER forget that day they took those special people from me and my dad. Now I am an only child who lives with her weeping dad. I am still devastated and in tears typing this right this very second. Today it will be exactly eight years since they took them from us, and I am still furious and horrified and questioning ... WHY?

Pain Is:

The screams of life's last breath
Cries of millions over loved ones death
The sound of bodies falling on the debris
Dust of the collapsed towers so thick you can't see
The calls to relatives that never got through
Thinking the death of another could have been you
The sirens of help signaling they're on their way
Never thought something like this could happen that day
Slowly the day ended while thousands of souls entered heaven
We will never forget the tragic day of Nine-Eleven

Today my school did this memorial for all the people who died in the 9-11 attack. We put over 3000 flags in front of our school to represent how many people died in the attack. Each flag had someone's name on it. We honored the families of each person we saw. We sat in silence. We prayed for all the families who have lost loved ones and people who are dear to them. We know today was hard on some people, and really stressful, also, but we all wanted to say that you're not going through this alone. We are all going through it together, and we will stand by each other and never let anyone down!
:-) 9-11 IS A REMEMBERFUL DAY!

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy in New York City. Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. The sponsors of this site are paying all expenses, and are thereby keeping the site free from advertising that would take away from the solemnity of the purpose. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE! Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
