My favorite memory of Adam is when he dressed up as Indiana Jones for Halloween - equipped with a tape player playing the theme song! He truly was larger than life, and we were all so blessed to know him.

We will remember you this day and forever. It was great to know you in highschool and I am sad that I have not been able to see you again through the years. You are truly missed.

The light that burns twice as bright, burns half as long and you illuminated all of our lives with such compassion and friendship that we will never forget you Adam...

Today you were remembered as you are in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved you. I hope you smiled as you watched.

I am Adam's father, or just "Shelby," as he had started to call me when he was at CU. This site is just great, and it was so good to see Crockett's comments. I guess I just miss Adam as much as ever. He was the best possible son and friend anyone could have. I hope that many of you can get up to New York for the Memorial dedication on 9/11/2011. Until then, as Ryan Means always said, "Keep on rockin' in the free world." Many thanks to you all.

ASW —

You still inspire me and make me smile. Just laughing at some old stories while online, Googled you, and found this site.

I hope you and RPM are absolutely mauling it somewhere beautiful.

I miss you, buddy!

I did not know Adam, but the day that the WTC was hit, I was at work. I could not believe what I saw on TV. It was as though I was looking at the end of the world. I knew at that very minute that someone like Adam had lost all of his hopes and dreams. So when I saw that you could buy the WTC 09-11 bracelets, I got blessed that day with Adam White's name. I just hope that all of his hopes and dreams are still alive for his family and friends. I think of all of them all of the time.

I am finally writing about Adam, nine years after he died. As many have said before, he truly was a fabulously unique person and the best friend. He was TRULY bigger than life and remains so.... His death really made me think hard about the afterlife, and I know without any hesitation that Adam is in heaven looking down laughing and enjoying and mocking the things we do. He was one of a kind, and I loved him dearly and miss him on this earth. I still have his family in my thoughts and know they are so proud of their affiliation with such a fine guy and will see him soon.

Adam, on this eighth anniversary of our loss of a bright, kind, funny, caring friend, I just want you to know that all who know you miss you very much.

I just found this page. Sorry I had not seen it before. Adam was my friend. This is typical Adam. I'd get a call and he'd say, "I'm going to bring over some classic comedies and we're going to watch them all night." I'd laugh 'til I hurt.

But he was also smart, artistic, athletic and caring. His family had such a huge impact on me. I can see things that remind me of you all the time. Whimsical, funny things that could only come from that incredible mind of yours.

You are loved and missed.

To the family, friends, and all who feel the loss of Adam S. White,

I have a brother, Adam White. He is a few years older than Adam S. White would be now, but like the Adam who died in the WTC, my brother is a young man with a great potential and, I hope, a long future ahead of him. For many years my brother and I have fought like fools, one silly argument after another. I have always said, "It's his fault," but I'm sure he feels the same about me. When I looked at the picture of the Adam that was so tragically lost on 9/11 and read the moving tributes, I realized that life is so much more fragile than we think and that, even though he drives me crazy and often hurts my feelings, my Adam White, my brother, is precious, and I should thank our Lord for blessing me with a brother. I will always try from now on to see my brother in this different light. God Bless you, Adam S.White, and all your family and friends. I am so sorry you are gone, but I pray you are comfortable and safe in the Lord's embrace.

Take care,
Paul White (North Wales, UK)

Adam, growing up with you, playing years of baseball, and just being around you in Atlanta made me a better person. I know you're in a better place, but you are sorely missed. Bless you and your wonderful family. You are loved.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
