I cycled 91.1 kilometers in memorial of Adriana Legro on 9/10/11 in Las Vegas, NV as part of the 911Unity.org memorial event. It was an honor to represent someone who was a tragic victim of the WTC attacks 10 years ago. May she rest in peace.

Recuerdo mucho a mi primita Adriana, cuando jugabamos de pequeñas en la casa en que vivía, siempre la recordaré. Un beso a toda mi familia en USA desde Colombia. Tiita te amo.

[I remember often my little cousin Adriana, when we used to play as children in her house. I'll always remember her. A kiss to all my family in USA from Colombia. Tiita, I love you.]

Adriana (Ady) was a sweet and kind girl. She smiled a lot, was always joking, and loved to eat good food. We were roommates at Boston University and became "sisters" shortly after we met each other in 1988. We remained friends even after I graduated in 1991 and left her behind in Boston to graduate the year after. We spent time together in New York at the beach. We traveled to New York from Boston together many times when we were in college, and we used to party together during and after college years. I have lots of good memories and pictures of her and me together and with some mutual friends in Boston. I spent time with her family in New York: her sister Maria, her brother, hew nephew, her sister who used to live in Manhattan. When I needed a place to crash in New York while traveling from Miami or Haiti or Canada, Adriana's house was always open to me. Her grandma liked me a lot and always welcomed me home. Ady meant her lot to me and my brother Charles and our friend Jean-David. She was a good mental support to me when I was overwhelmed at times.... She loved her family; her grandma was her world. Adriana was a hard worker, a self-made person like myself, and never stopped trying hard. She is an angel. I love you, Ady, and I know that you went straight to heaven, your Bunny.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
