Mrs. Gentul, I never remembered you, but I have heard your courageous story. After the attacks, the only thing I remember is lying on my couch crying about the fact that you were not with us anymore. Every time I am reminded of those white towers and there collapse, I think of you. You touched my heart in a way that I did not know was possible. Your name will forever be engraved on the perimeter of the foundation of those miraculous towers. Rest in Peace.

Alayne,
You were a beautiful colleague, friend, mentor and human being. The world is truly missing a piece of its soul with your loss. I pray that you rest in peace and look down on us all. And my prayers will always go to your family and friends to be comforted with such an internal loss.

I met Alayne when recruited for FTI. Her gracious behavior started the moment we met when she invited me to enjoy the view from her office. This style continued during further calls. Her heroism that day was just being in character; Alayne taking care of her charges.

Alayne,
Who would have thought that your story would have touched an 25-year-old African American woman from Elizabeth, New Jersey. Alayne, I heard your husband tell your story of your final moments and how you helped others get out before leaving the building. Alayne, you are beautiful and courageous, and I feel honored to have heard your story. I may have not known you, but you touched me deeply. May God bless you and your family.

Just like any mother in her situation, I am sure Alayne's final thoughts were of her husband and her children. I pray that in her final moments she wasn't falling but flying with her new wings up into heaven. God rest her soul and God bless her family.

I heard Alayne's story in a documentary about the World Trade Center. What a beautiful family, and what a heartbreaking loss! May God bless you all.

In "World Trade Center," the story made me sad because Alayne did no make it out, and the peacefulness their family shared

I saw the documentary, "Inside the World Trade Center," and they talked Alayne, and I saw her photo and found out that she didn't make it out. Her husband, Jack, spoke with her just before she and others tried to escape. She told him to tell their sons she loves them and told him she loves him and she's scared and that was it. I cried through it all because I knew she wasn't going to make it. And as I watched the South Tower collapse, I screamed, "Oh, my God! NO! Not Alayne! Not all those people with her! God, no! Don't do this! STOP!" I wailed in fear and shock. R.I.P., Alayne! :'(

We never realized Alalyne was among the many who died on 9/11. Our heartfelt sympathy to her husband Jack and her two beautiful sons. We lived across the street from Jack and Alayne many years ago. What a strong, loving woman she was. We will always remember Alayne, Jack and their boys as a loving, warm and close family.

As I complete my career in the army, someone asked me why I served. I paused for a moment; I looked at them and then past them; I joined for one reason many years ago, but I stayed. I looked at them and said to them: "Alayne F. Gentul." I did it for her and others who were with her." Please accept my heartfelt thoughts and prayers. I know they all had names ... I only wish more people knew them. God bless.

Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
