I never knew Amelia seeing as I was only a 12 year old girl in New Mexico when 9/11 happened. But a few weeks after the the day, my parents both recieved silver mercy bands from our church with names of those who died. I insisted I have one too and when I got mine the bracelet read, "Amelia V Fields - Pentagon". It was a reminder of how precious life is and to pray for her loved ones. Ten years later I still wear my mercy band everyday and every morning I pray for her family and friends that each day, living without Amelia gets a little easier.

Amelia was my true angel on earth! When I met her, all my faith in God was gone. Thru many conversations, she repaired my faith to a point that when she died, I knew instantly that God placed her in my path for a very important mission.

Amelia, you were a precious angel on earth. Thank you for all your work with me. I hold you in my heart today and every day until we are reacquainted again in heaven.

"The main thing in one's own private world is to try to laugh as much as you cry". Maya Angelou

Tu amiga,

Amelia was always a very nice person. I'm orginally from Somerset county, so we grew up together and went to same school from seventh grade thru graduation. We were part of the graduating class from the old Washington High School. We were the class of 1973. I think about her often, especially during 9-11. May she rest in peace. She was a peaceful person.

I never got to meet you. I wanted to pick a special person I had something in common with. I clicked on your name because it's a pretty one. As it turns out, we were both 36 in 2001 and both mothers. We did have things in common. It must mean something that when I clicked, I got your name. From reading, I see you were a very good and kind person, a loving Mom, dedicated to serving her country. I am forever grateful to you. God bless you and the loved ones you left behind.

Amelia and I grew up in the same neighborhood and attended the same schools of Princess Anne, MD. Her parents were my Dad's good friends. I remember seeing her last when we were both Marine Corps wives at Camp Lejeune, NC. A wonderful and cheerful person, she will never be forgotten.

Mrs. Fields, I am your son's girlfriend of the last couple of years, and I have heard so much about you. Only a wonderful woman could have made such a wonderful son. Thank you for sending him to me. I wish I could have met you.

Amelia was my Aunt, and I know her very well, and she was the most caring and nicest person you will ever meet. I will always remember you. We miss you.

I knew Amelia only by telephone. She worked at the Army CPOC at Belvoir and I worked at the Pentagon CPAC. I just happened to be going over the list of individuals who died that day of 9-11-01. I didn't even know Ameilia was at the Pentagon on 9-11 until I saw her name on the list of missing persons. I was heartsick....I remember one of the last things she told me when she knew she would be leaving Belvoir. She was hoping she could go back to Japan where her happiest memories were. She was a fine Christian woman. This I learned just by talking to her on the phone about business. Such a sad loss. I will always remember you Amelia and someday I know I will see you again.

I never met Amelia but I carry her name on a wrist band every day so that I never forget 9-11. I picked Amelia because her last name came closest to mine and I lived in VA when the Pentagon was hit. I and my family remember her every 9-11. One day I hope to visit her rsting place.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
