I never knew Andrea personally. I had dated someone who was friends with both Al and Andrea. My sister Jo was dating Mark Kirst. I believe they road tripped it to Florida one year for spring break. I remember seeing Al and Andrea...ow they were to each other...they had a very special bond. I am so sorry for your loss. Every year when the anniversary is upon us, I think of Andrea...and how much of a loss this is to Al and all of her family and friends. Her life is much to be celebrated...I just wanted to let you know how one person can reach out to so many others. Love and Peace to all.

I have been reading parts of the Just a few sleeps away that has been in the Milwaukee paper. We only get the Sunday paper from there (here in Richland Center WI) so I have been going online everyday to read on and I am just deeply sorry for the the loss of Andrea. I just want to say I truly dont think she died alone as feared I believe that she was surrounded with love. I didnt know her but after reading on I feel as if I had. With Love and God Bless! From one small town girl to another Andrea we miss you!

Dear Andrea,
I was just thinking about you and the good ol' days back at Mary, Queen of Heaven School. You were a wonderful student and made me proud as a young adult. I was blessed to be your Art Teacher and know you.
Love,
Therese Kroll

So sorry you lost Andrea. Heard you on Charlie Sykes this morning. We also wonder if Haberman and Habermann are from the same family. My Father's family grew up in Sun Prairie Wisconsin.

Today marks the eighth year of this tragic event. Each year my employer conducts a memorial for the victims of 9-11 and the brave men and women in uniform who risk their lives for our freedom. This year we wanted to remember the individuals who lost their lives during this attack, and the name I choose was Andrea's. I came to this website to learn about her and to keep Andrea in my thoughts and prayers today. I know this is a small act of goodwill to her friends and family, but my day is dedicated to the memory of Andrea.

First time I've found this site,... so I thought I'd leave you a little "hello." Six years later, and we all still miss you so much. Got back from NYC; saw your family; it was really good to see them.... Please continue to watch over them and Al. Love and Miss You.

Shortly after 9-11, I met a few friends out for the evening in which many people across the country planned candle lighting in memory of the people lost in the attacks. One of the people that spent the evening with us had worked as a trader in the towers, but had moved to Baltimore since. He brought many candles- each with a slip of paper containing the name of someone he had known and worked with in NY that was lost on that day. He asked if we would all use these candles for the lighting, and help him remember his past associates.
The candle I was given had Andrea's name on the slip of paper. It felt strange to light a candle specifically for a person I had never known, however we all lit the candles outside the little pub we had chosen and observed a time of silence. It was a solemn and emotional experience that it made the events of 9-11 so much more real and personal for me. I kept that half burnt candle and the slip of paper, now preserved and glued to the bottom of the candle from the melted wax.
When I arrived home that evening, I was compelled to search the internet for information on the victims of 9-11. To my surprise, the very first page I selected provided a picture of a beautiful young and vibrant woman- Andrea Haberman. I can not fully describe the emotional impact; it was as if I had just lost someone close to me. It is a feeling that has not left me since.
On each anniversary since 9-11 I have lit that same candle in memory of someone I have never known. Today is the 5th anniversary- and tonight, with my family and maybe a few friends, I will light that candle again. I will wish for a reality in which this never happen and hope for a world in which it will never happen again. And, even though there is little that remains of my small candle, Andrea’s memory and my wishes for her family and friends will not diminish.

WHAT WONDERFUL MEMORIALS I HAVE FOUND FOR YOU. I FEEL COMPELLED TO WRITE IN ALL OF THEM. HOPE YOU DON'T MIND. AS A CHILDHOOD FRIEND, I REMEMBER YOU AS A LITTLE GIRL WHO I HAD SO MUCH PLAYING WITH. YOU WERE ONE OF MY VERY FIRST FRIENDS AND I HAVE MUCH SADNESS THAT I DID NOT KEEP IN CONTACT WITH YOU AFTER YOU MOVED FROM WEST ALLIS. I THINK OF YOU DAILY AND FEEL THAT WE HAVE A COUPLE THINGS IN COMMON...WE SHARE A NAME AND YOU SHARE YOUR BIRTHDAY WITH MY GRANDMA. THINKING OF YOU TODAY, TOMORROW AND ALWAYS.

It has been two years to the day now that you left our family. I barely knew you personally, but I was compelled to remember you today. Thank you for making Al's life brighter for the time you were together. May God bless you for all eternity.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
