My name is Taly, from Hillburn N.Y. We just experienced a very mysterious event and found in our house an item that belongs to one of the heroes of 9.11.
We truly want to do our moral duty and give back the personal shirt that belonged to LT. Andy Fredericks. We never heard about this person before yesterday, but mysteriously a personal shirt with his name appeared in our house yesterday.
Can you please assist us in contacting someone from his family so we can share this story and give them the shirt, it will be greatly appreciated.
This is not a made up story and we are looking for no reward, as mysterious as it might sound, there might be an explanation that we will only know when we contact the family.
Please contact us at dotali4@yahoo.com

I HAVE THE GREAT HONOR OF BEING ANDREW'S SISTER-IN-LAW. I JUST WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU FOR REMEMBERING HIM. HE TRULY LOVED WHAT HE DID, WE USE TO SAY IT WAS HIS CALLING. AFTER THE ATTACKS I WAS TALKING WITH MY NEPHEW. HE WAS 9 AT THE TIME. I SAID TO HIM IF DADDY GOT JUST 1 PERSON OUT HE WOULD SAY IT WAS WORTH IT. AND I KNOW THAT EACH AND EVERY FIREMAN WOULD DO IT AGAIN. IT TAKES A SPECIAL PERSON TO RUN IN A BUILDING WHILE EVERYONE ELSE IS RUNNING OUT. ANDY WE LOVE AND MISS YOU EVERYDAY.

**PAGE 1** I was at the FDIC Trade Show in Indianapolis on Friday, March 25 this year. My company that I work for (Akron Brass) offered employees a chance to go to the conference. I was walking around the different displays when I saw a booth where they were doing a "Memorial Stair Climb" for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice almost ten years ago. I was talking to one of the guys there about what was required in the event, when I noticed a group of clear name badges with pictures of the fallen firefighters inside. My eyes were drawn to a firefighter named Andrew A. Fredricks, SQ-18. There were a lot of firefighters to choose from, but when I saw his badge I stopped looking. "Where do I sign?" I asked. My friends thought I was crazy because I had never got in shape for this event. Apparently a lot of firemen trained for this event. We were in the Lucas Oil Stadium, where the Colt's play. MAN, IS THAT PLACE HUGE! The stairs began at the bottom of the stadium (on the field) and went to the top (the "nose bleed section"). Once at the top, we went up and down the whole upper section, from one side to the other. Then all the way back down. One trip from top to bottom was the equivalent to 34 flights of stairs. The first trip through I was sweating, and my legs were like rubber. I HAD 76 MORE FLIGHTS OF STAIRS! Half-way through the climb, I was exhausted and thought I couldn't finish. That's when I pulled out the badge that had Andrew's picture in it. That's when the tears started. I could not even imagine what it would have been like to know that to save a life you would have to give your own. I did not know Andrew, but I believe he would have told me, "YOU CAN DO IT," just like the feeling that I had in my heart when I looked at his picture. I wiped the tears and continued the climb, up and down, till I crossed the finish line. 110 flights later, I KNEW IN MY HEART that he was beside me through the whole thing. Some day when the lord call's his people home, I'll have another set of stairs to climb — the ones to heaven. At that time I believe my new friend, FIREFIGHTER ANDREW A. FREDRICKS, will once again take to the stairs to help bring another one safely home. I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU, ANDREW!
Your friend,
Bob J. Edgell

Lt. Andrew Fredericks is an inspiration to all Firefighters present and past. Because of him the fire service is safer for those who follow his teachings. He showed that a firefighters life can be cut short doing what we love to do. He gave his life so that someone else could live to see another day. Thank you for you sevice and dedication you will not be forgotten and your legacy will live on.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
