Andrew my dear friend, We are so grateful to have had you in our life. Back in the days when mobile phones were a newfangled thing you and I shared one and had a pager each - oh how times have changed! So many fond memories of our time at the AWU completing our "organising Works" traineeship with Australian Council of Trade Unions. Our ski trip to Falls Creek and the impromptu visit to your family who lived in the area. David and I think of you often, the enjoyable times we spent together, working on Union and Political campaigns together, sharing beautiul wine and food with you. We feel so honoured to have had you in our life and hope one day to visit the memorial in New York to visit you old friend. We have found comort in the thought that you were living life to the fullest, without regret and making so many of your dreams become a reality in Europe and the USA. You will never be forgotten dear friend. Love Dionne and David Berry xoxo

I still remember Andrew fondly. We had known each other for so long and been through so much together. Each September I pull his photos out and smile at his memory. It helps the sadness to think of the happy times (and lots of fun!) we shared. From boy to men we shared some of the road. See you on the other side man! Ben - NSW Australia

Today I remember Andrew Knox, whom I first met attending Buffalo State College. A wonderful man who extended his hospitality to me and my friend afterward when we were exchange students in Adelaide, Australia. I will always remember his humor and smile. My prayers and thoughts are with the Knox family.

For the few times Andrew touched my life, he left a positive lasting impression.
A truly wonderful nice guy, the likes of who the world needs more off.
My thoughts are with his family today as always.

What a lovely site. After ten years I still find sites dedicated to all of those we lost on that tragic day. Thank you to everybody for remembering my brother.

With the news today, I remember you, Andrew. I only met you a few times, but I remember the lovely dinner we had in Cairns and the great political discussion, too. You were such an impressive person — tall, smart, good-looking, and genuinely nice, with so much potential, which was sadly never fulfilled. It is so sad that all the people who have died in the name of terrorism cannot be returned to us today with the death of Osama bin Laden. That would be true justice. R.I.P., Andrew.

A tragic loss. It was hard to comprehend then, as it still is now, what it must have been like in Andrew's position on that day. May my fellow South Australian rest in peace.

Today at Lackland AFB, TX, we had a remembrance run, and the name I got was Andrew Knox. Today I ran for him, and, might I say, it meant a lot to pay that respect for an innocent life spared.

Andrew was a cousin of sorts and although our paths only crossed once or twice when he visited the UK with his brother Stuart and lovely Mum and Dad, I can still recall the nights in shared bedrooms and Parents telling us to go to sleep. I love New York but haven't been able to go back since 9/11 and have relayed the story and history to my new fiancée and now feel ready to visit again and pay my respects to a top guy, a top family and an amazing city. God bless

I volunteered to write a commemorative blog post about Andrew as part of a tribute for the 8th Anniversary on Project 2996 (http://project2996.wordpress.com). I didn't know Andrew but as a fellow Australian felt it worthy of remembering one of our sons. My deepest condolences to the Knox family and to the families of all who suffered as a result of this horrendous attack. May none of them be forgotten.

I don't know why, but I feel like writing something here. I met Andrew on a few occasions in Adelaide, SA. I was pretty young and doing training with the ACTU, about 12 years ago. He seemed so mature and clear about his path and the contribution he would make. I thought he was a genuine person, and he did not have time to muck around. He was friendly and respectful. I am glad there is a scholarship in his memory for work in industrial relations. His passing is a loss for the world. I remember him even after all this time.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
