To the King Family,
I think of Andy often and remember his Elgin Academy days. I was his teacher there. The school was a very close knit family and he was a beloved member of that family. I was in Elgin for the dedication of his garden at EA and it was something to see his friends coming together to make sure he is not forgotten.

Andy, we are thinking of you today. You are greatly missed. Your family is doing very well, as you no doubt know, and you are hugely proud of them, I know. I hope the golf courses are great in heaven!

Andy. You were always a gentleman, always a friend, and the best catch at dancing school. I think of you often, love your memory, and hope the best for your kids. They have a singular dad.

Andrew you always had a great smile and a wonderfully posistive out look on life and I remember the great times we had with Spencer and Paige as kids. You are sorely missed.

Andrew, Judy, CeCe, Drew and Carly - As the 10th anniversary approaches, my heart goes out to all of you.

I have watched the kids grow (thank you Facebook) into beautiful young people, and am so happy to see you all looking so well and happy.

Andrew I know you are proud of your beautiful, strong family. Your strength, heart and energy clearly lives on in them.

Hello King family! The distant memories of the GGC, Andrew and everyone are all fond. The NYC lunches and a couple of visits to CT were always a great time as well.

Yo Cats!

I went to the WTC museum, and I bought a metal wristband that had Andy's name on it. So I Googled his name, and I wanted to make a comment. I think it is very sad, and he was very brave to go through 9/11. It is also sad for his family. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

The subject of 9/11 came up today in conversation, and I immediately thought of Andy. I was remembering his infectious energy and zest for life. I met Andy through Charlie Thompson in 1993 (ironically on a golf trip to Florida during the first attack on the WTC). I always enjoyed seeing him and being bolstered by his great attitude. I hope all is well with his family.

I have been doing research on the Bedford family from North Carolina and found Andrew's post. He had information I have been looking for for years, and I wrote to him in 2002 without getting a response. I just happened to do a search on his name because he had a wealth of information on our families, hoping to get in touch with him. Today I sadly found out why he never responded. It is now the year 2008, and your loss is still being felt. Please know my that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May your children have the same passion for family and life as you had!

I was a client and friend of Andy's for years. We would talk for hours at a time from when he did the night shift at the PHLX floor, through Berisford, and Cantor. Apart from being a great broker for me, Andy was a great friend. With me in Chicago, and his connections to the area, we had some great conversations about (mostly) sports, and the city, etc. Over many years we developed a strong relationship. He loved having me as a client since he could come out and take me to Bulls playoffs games when Michael Jordan was here!

We would exchange stories about everything, and he often mentioned his family and his wife and kids. I remember once when he took some time off and I gave him a hard time about it, just kidding around. Then he told me it was because of an operation that his son was about to undergo, and with kids of my own, I was concerned along with him. That was one of our more serious conversations, as usually we would just do business or just chat over the course of the day.

I am truly saddened and extend my sympathies and regards to his family. Andy was a great guy, and I miss him.

Andrew,
I still miss you very much, our children are growing with the strength you've given them and i'm so proud of each one of them.  As time goes by, I realize how lucky I was to have you a part of my life for 15 years, we will never forget.  I love you still.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
