I knew Andrew's mom, grandmother, uncle, and know his aunt and cousins. Like we never forget our ancestors lost in the Holocaust, let us never forget those whose lives were taken in the 9/11 act of madness. L'shana tova to all.

Although I did not know Andrew, I was at his memorial service, and I will never forget the beautiful tributes that were said on his behalf.... I do think of Andrew and the Zucker family often.

I was deeply saddened to hear of the loss this week of Andrew's mother, Sue Zucker. I was a parent at Temple Beth Am, and I enjoyed my conversations with her, sharing many parts of our children's lives with her. I will always remember her dedication to Judaism and to the school. Most of all I will never forget the strength and courage she showed by example to her family in the face of so much tragedy. May her memory be a blessing to all of you at this difficult time.

I don't know Zucker personally, but I greatly appreciate what he did that day to help our nation. I give my heart out to his family, including his wife and child, who I know love and miss him dearly. Thank you, Andrew, truly missed and loved.

I did not know Andrew Zucker personally, but I do know from those who did know him personally that he was a selfless human being who was always there to help others. People of his nature are hard to find. In his short lifetime he contributed so much to make this world a better place. May he rest in peace.

Andrew Zucker and I enjoyed several summers together as friends and bunk mates in a Jewish summer camp outside New York City during the 1980s. I remember his friendship and humor. He and I played a lot of hockey together in the camp, and I remembered having fun with him as a childhood friend. He and I also shared a lot of good summer days playing baseball together on the camp team, as well.

He was always warm, and frequently would give me and my mother, who worked at the camp, huge hugs. These were so memorable, that, when I saw him again almost 15 years later when he arrived for his first day of work at the law firm in New Jersey where I had been working for a few weeks before him, I immediately had the instinct to greet him there with the same huge hug as he always gave me a teenage friend in summer camp more than a decade before that.

Andrew was helpful to me in many ways at the firm and also was very kind in calling me when I had to leave work for some time when I was sick. He was a very loving man, a kind professional colleague and a good friend. I will miss him, and wish his widow and son, Jason, much consolation in the memory of such a warm, loving man.

In tribute to Andrew S Zucker,

Andrew
May his memory be for a blessing.

I was on holiday on the West Coast when 9/11 happened. The one story I remember hearing on the news during those days was the story of Andrew Zucker. Watching CNN I hoped and prayed for his safe return. I watched his wife and hoped she would find him. I was so sad to hear that he had died and that he missed seeing his child being born. To Andrew's family - nothing can ever take away your loss or pain, but know that people all over the world are still thinking of you and sending you their love and prayers. May God bless you.

I am another person who did not know Andrew Zucker, but his story is one of such courage, bravery, and self sacrifice that I will never forget it. The way he chose to help others to evacuate, ultimately giving his own life, is a story I feel should never be forgotten and hopefully never shall. May the world remember an ordinary man who thought of others rather than himself.

Andrew Zucker was the age I am now. He went to work one Tuesday morning and his life ended.
I didn't know him, I just felt like he should have a comment on his page to remember him. May your memory live on and I hope you have loved ones out there who remember you every day.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
