I was using the Internet to see if Houtz was a popular name. It brought me to this web page. I was very touched by this page, knowing that this person might be family somewhere down the line. My heart and blessings go out to this family as well as all of those who were lost on that day.

I still think about this every day since 9-11. My prayer and thoughts go out to everyone affected by this horrific day in our lives. I am hopeful one day that the next generation of children never have to experience the things we experienced on 9-11. To Angie and her family: you have my dedication, passion, and commitment to never rest until this mission is accomplished.

God bless,

God bless you, Angie. You made my nights sharing watch with you in the CNO-IP a joy instead of a burden. I pray for your family. God bless you, Angie.

Thanks to all who have posted messages of remembrance and prayers in Angie's honor. I find comfort in the fact that her memory is living, and her spirit has touched you. It has been an unreal six years since her death, filled with drama and blessings for all of us. Again, my thanks for your thoughts, and my prayers for all of you to find peace in your lives.

Angie and I worked together in Grate Patrol, a homeless feeding ministry in Washington, D.C., sponsored by the Salvation Army and in which our church participated. She was upbeat, fun, faithful and filled with faith. I know she's been in heaven these six years, but I still think of her and honor her memory.

Six years later, but it feels like yesterday. She was a great person, a good friend, and still missed very much.

Two songs remind me of Angie -- "Fire and Rain" by James Taylor and "Angie" by the Stones.

I was a classmate of Angela Houtz, and I spent this morning, the 5th anniversary of those terrorist attacks, thinking about her and her friends and family. I just wanted her family to know that someone else is remembering her fondly today. I will not forget that she was working at the Pentagon to help prevent the very kind of attack that took her life. Thanks for being an example for all of us to follow, Angie.

As Angie's birthday approaches in September, I reflect on her goodness, her kindness, her humor, compassion and faith. She was a unique and gifted person, and a very special daughter. 9/11 robbed us of her here, but her spirit and integrity continue to touch others. Thank you everyone for you prayers for Angie and our family.

To Angela's parents,
I want you to know that I worked at ONI and shared that office at the Pentagon. I transfered to Atlanta in 1998 and consider myself blessed. I wear a memorial bracelet with Angelas name on it and will always cherish it. I have since been working to right that terrible wrong. I have been to Afghanistan and more recently to Iraq. Whatwever we do, it is not enough for what you have lost. My prayers and thoughts are always with you.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
