Today at my school where I teach, we remembered the victims of 9-11 in a variety of ways. We wore red, white and blue, we had speakers, Todd Beamers parents from flight 93 and a parent at our school who escaped from the North World Trade Tower. But one of the things that touched me the most was a parent that handed out wrist bands to each of the students and staff with a name of one of the many victims of the attack. The one which I received was Angela Susan Perez. All day I kept looking at her picture and information on my wrist, thinking how young and beautiful she was and wondered about her life and the people who loved her. When I came home from school I googled her name to see what I could find out about her life. I found this site, and read all the wonderful things written about and for her. I am honored to wear her name on my arm today. I will continue to wear it and when someone asks me what it is, I will tell them about Angela Susan Perez and what a wonderful lady was lost on that horrible day. My heartfelt love and sympathy goes out to her family, friends and co-workers who lost a most special lady from their lives 10 years ago. Just wanted you to know although she is gone, she is not forgotten. God Bless.

Dear family of Angela Susan Perez,        9-9-11
I am sorry for your lose. My name is Angela Sartin and I am writing to you from school. My teatcher told our class about your web site and he said we could write to somone that died in this attack of the World Trate Center.
I chose your family member because as you already know, I have the same first name as your family member. Also, I was interested in her story. I understand that she has a daughter. I would please like you to write back to me.

                      Sincerly,
                      Angela Sartin

Hi. I am deeply touched by Mrs. Perez's story, and even though I didn't know her, I believe that she is in heaven with Jesus and the angels. My heart goes out to the Perez family and her son, and I know how it feels to miss a parent so much, and I know that she is with you every day and proud of how you're doing in school. God bless forever and always.

Hi mom,

It's been eight years since you were taken from me, and it's still not any easier to say. It's been tough without you, and I can't believe you wont be here this June for my high school graduation and see me off to college. I wish every day that you were here and everything were good again and everyone were happy. If you only knew how life really fell apart around me when you died. You made everything better and easier for me. You taught me things, and we had always had fun together. I miss it and need it. It's not the same without you. I just can't wait for the day when this will all be over, and we can be together again. I LOVE YOU 'n' MISS YOU so much! You have no idea. I keep everything you taught me in my heart and head and know I'll be okay with you by my side always.

6 years later ... the tears still flow ... missing you never gets easier ... cherished friend forever ... few friends leave such an impression ... you are truly one of the best friends I ever had! You will never be one of many victims to me ... that day was one of the worst days for our country, a tragedy for New York, but it was the day that my best friend's passing left a pain in my heart that will never go away.... Susan, I will always miss you and love you.... Keep laughing, my friend.... It's smiles like yours that make the world go around.... May god walk beside you for eternity....

Love ya lots, girl,
Anna

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
