I was introduced to Anne in 1990, when I started work at a company she used to work for (The Bobst Group). She always had a smile on her face and always lent a helping hand to whomever was in need. During the 6 years that I was lucky enough to work with her, she treated me like a little sister and a friend. We got together socially on many occasions and wherever whe was, people were laughing and having a good time. A petite woman with a huge heart and wonderful smile....A soul that will always be missed! Thank you Anne, for all of the memories that I am blessed to have shared with you...til we meet again!

On this 10th anniversary of 9/11, the NY Times front page had a photo of the Wall of Victims which included the name of Anne Ransom --- my name also. Although I never knew the victim, the tragedy of 9/11 will be even more ingrained in my memory because we have the same name and I have just read the many beautiful comments about Anne Ransom of New Jersey, a victim of 9/11.

I did not know you, Anne, but we share a name in common, and a day we who have survived will never forget. To your friends and family, your loss shall ever be remembered.

Remembering a former co-worker on this day(AMERICAN EXPRESS). We never met in person. All of our interactions were via email or the telephone. I remember working with Ann just two week prior to 9/11/2001. You have been in my thoughts over the years. R.I.P. Ann.

Representing the American Legion and the Borough of Edgewater, I am organizing a major event, the tenth 9/11 Memorial service, for the borough of Edgewater. We want to honor our three residents who died in the WTC attack. As you know, Anne Rose T Ransom was one of our neighbors who perished.

I need to reach out to her family members or friends to get their feedback. We will be raising funds if needed for assistance to the family for any related needs such as scholarships as they see fit. In addition we will provide for any expenses to support their participation in the events. We want to install WTC steel on our Veterans' Field site in Edgewater in their memory and for each division of our "first responders" and present replicas of the plaques (per their requests) to each family.

Can you send any contact information that you have present residence, job, community, or have them contact me for further information.

Really need your help,
Dr David Jordan

I met Anne in 1990 while we were both working for Bobst out of Roseland, NJ. We were sort of an unlikely pair who hit it off from the beginning and became great friends. I am a tall, blond, blue-eyed Southerner and Anne was maybe 5' 3" with short dark kinda spiked hair wearing stilettos! Anne, her husband, Bob, me and my husband, Bob, went on a vacation together to the Outer Banks and had a wonderful time. Over the next 11 years, I would come to visit her in NJ and she came down to Atlanta to visit me. She would always kid about wanting to become a "Southern Belle". So we would visit the Swan House and other very "Southern" sites in the Atlanta area. She was so funny trying to "speak Southern" as she called it.

The last time I spoke with Anne was on Monday, Sept. 10, 2001.  I was coming up to New Jersey for business and we were making our plans to get together and go into New York.

Anne was on my speed dial at my office and when I heard about the plane hitting the first tower I started frantically calling her number......but, of course, to no avail. I tried calling all day but couldn't get through....and each time my heart became heavier.

I will never forget her wonderful sense of humor and all the laughter we shared. She was a wonderful person with a compassionate heart and loving spirit. She is missed by all who knew her. But I am so thankful she was a part of my life....knowing her was truly one of the highlights. She will never be forgotten and always loved.

I was aghast to see my name in print after that day. I will always think of you, a person I never met but feel for.

I cannot believe it is almost 8 years since I have seen her face. Anne and I met while she was working for American Express out on Long Island in 1997. I was thinking today of the last time I saw her: We were having lunch at the World Trade Center in August of 2001, sitting outside on a beautiful day when she met my son for the first (and last) time.
I miss you, Anne, and hope your spirit and zest for life is still as strong as when we were together.

Anne was a true friend to all she came in contact with! You couldn't help but get caught up in her smile and the aura that surrounded her was bright and beautiful! WE miss you and love you Anne!

I first met Anne back in 1998 through work in my job with American Express.  She was awesome at what she did, but more importantly, she was a great friend.  I miss her smile, her warmth, and her love.  At one point during the Summer of 2000, I was very ill and Anne was going to spend a weekend with me to help me get things together.  My mom ended up making plans to visit me that weekend, but I will never forget Anne's generous and loving spirit.  She may have been small in stature, but she had more love and kindness than anyone could ever imagine.  I miss you Anne.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
