We are a Navy family stationed in Sicily. Our base had a 9/11 Rememberance run and each one of us was given a name to run for. I received Anthony Demas. I ran 1 mile for him! I will continue to think of him now and hope he is at peace. God Bless

As the tenth anniversary of the senseless 9/11 tragedy approaches, I am reminded again of the wonderful friend I lost that day. Tony and I were best friends from the day we started college together, and I later had the privilege of serving as best man at his wedding to Vivi. Tony was a fine man, a great friend, and a wonderful father and husband. I lost a part of myself when we lost Tony, and I know I will think of him and miss him as long as I live. How sad that he missed all of these years with his sons and Vivi! Let all who read this know that Anthony Demas was a very special man. I was lucky to have known him.

I lost contact with Tony but we were great friends when we were both new lieutenants in the Army, both in Aberdeen, Md and with the 24th Infantry Division in Augsberg Germany. He was in our wedding party, holding a sword as we passed underneath along with other "shave tails" as new officers were called at the time. He was often at our apartment, sharing Christmas and other holidays with us and he was as thrilled as we were when our daughter was born there in 1964.
Always a true friend, a great officer, and lover both of life and his red Triumph Spitfire which I still have a photo, waving and smiling as he raced down the Autobahn.

I tragically lost a precious, loving son-in-law who was a model father, husband, son, as well as a world class professional. His love of family, his devotion to duty, his service to his country and his integrity stand as coveted standards for all that knew him and dealt with him within family and in all levels of society, the workplace and the church. I lost a son. We will always miss our dear Andoni and we believe that his precious twin sons Nicholas and Andrew (10) will sustain his legacy of excellence in all facets of human endeavor and interaction. May he forever rest in peace.

I never knew Anthony but by knowing his son i know he was a good person.
