Oh Tony, you know I will never forget you! We had the best of times at The Mount...and many fun years after we graduated too. Fun memories: Doing "donuts" (driving in circles) in the white Bronco in the middle of a blizzard at the Springfield Mall..haha! Parties at the covered bridge...nominating you for President in college and, even though you never had any intention of running you almost won! Lost by 2 votes! The funny nicknames you gave everybody...your infectious laugh ("Bahahaha"!) and smile!
"Jesus Christ Lives, Tony Gallagher Lives, Long Live Tony Gallagher!"
I miss you Gals! xo, "Trish the Dish" p.s. Gals for President!

My Daughter ran in a memorial in Las Vegas today in honor of the wonderful people America lost 10 years ago. The Hero she was running for was Anthoney Edward Gallagher. We wanted to know this person instead of just a name. God bless his Family.

I post this for Joe -- a great guy and great friend from long ago. I never knew Tony but as a New Yorker I think often of Joe Gallagher, and the loss he and his family suffered on that day, a decade ago. All the best wishes to all of you.

Hi, Uncle Tony,

I'm at work, and I just randomly thought of you and Googled your name. This was the first site that popped up. I went on a run with Uncle Joe yesterday and wished you were there with us. We were all at Grandma's for the day. I love you and miss you.

Love,
Liz

He was born on a Tuesday, 31 May 1960.

Three of his family members are alumni of Fordham University, the Jesuit university of New York: his father, Edward J. Gallagher, his uncle, Robert E. Gallagher, and his sister, Carolyn Gallagher.

He has another sister, Suzanne Adams. His mother is Rose Costello.

He graduated from Mount Saint Mary University, Emmitsburg, Maryland, in 1983.

Every Friday afternoon at four o’clock, he telephoned his nephews and nieces—the four children of his sister Suzanne: Katie, Liz, Jay and Peter.

Anthony Edward Gallagher and his wife, Carrie, married in February of 2001.

He was a resident of New York City.

He served as an energy broker at Cantor Fitzgerald, an investment bank specializing in bond trading. His workplace was their New York office that occupied the 101st to 105th floors of Tower One, the north tower, of the World Trade Center.

It is confirmed that he died there on 11 September 2001.

He was forty-one years of age at the time.

His Funeral Mass began at eleven o’clock in the morning at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bay Shore, New York, on Thursday, 20 September 2001— the same day my own brother turned forty-one.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
