During a visit from one of my daughters, she mentioned that she saw that George passed away. I was shocked to hear this. Having worked with Ayleen and knowing her love for her family and her husband it was just so sad to know he passed away. I know that they are watching over their children every step of the way - may god grant them eternal peace and protect their family and friends who miss them dearly - 9/12/2011

Ayleen, we never met as far as I know but we are family. You look just like your cousin Norge. You are in such a better place than us. Home with our Father in heaven. God bless all your loved ones,

To the family of Ayleen J. Santiago. I am running a 10k in Aromas, California in the morning and I wanted to dedicate this run to Ayleen. Her beautiful smile grabbed my attention and the fact that she was a mother. I am very sorry for your loss. Thoughts and prayers for Ayleen and family as we reach the ten-year-anniversary.

Ayleen,
We've never met, but I knew a beautiful part of you--my friend, your husband, George Santiago. He shared many stories of your strength, courage, and love with all. George's love for you could never be compromised. He carried his love for you in each heartbeat and every breath he took until December 21, 2008, when he left to meet his angel Ayleen again. Merry Christmas, and may God bless you both.

Ayleen was my aunt and godmother. Those who knew her knew she was a strong person. You could go to her with any problems, and she would always be there for you. My parents had my sister and myself at a young age. My aunt was my dad's sister. For about a year and a half both my father and mother kept the fact she had died from us, and till this day I haven't been able to accept that she is gone, 'cuz she isn't. It was hard on my family, especially on her daughter, my cousin. She not only left behind my cousin Ayleen, who was named after her, but my cousin Jeremy, who was about a year and a half when it happened. It's hard on us trying to explain to him why my aunt is in heaven today instead of being here. Those of you who knew her, please cherish the memories you had with her. My last memory was when I was about 9 years old. After that we stopped seeing my father, and during that time period my aunt died. So please cherish everyone in your life, 'cause you don't know if they will be with you tomorrow.

Ayleen was so proud of her family and a great person to be around. We shared stories of our children, recipes and all the good things that make friendships happen. I light candles at home in her memory and keep a picture of her closeby. Ayleen and I bought the same colored sweaters once and wore them to work without knowing the other one bought it. After Sept. 11th, I never wore that sweater again but kept it because it will always remind me of her. My prayers are with the entire family. In the Lord's name I pray for them.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
