It is now 2009... but I think of Barbara Olsen as a "friend" who died eight years ago today. I loved watching Barbara banter with liberal news commentator Chris Matthews on his news show every week. I remember Barbara's wit, her humor, and her contributions to the world.

My beloved Barbara,
It would have been great to have known you through the media (press, magazines, TV shows, radio broadcasts), but as I live far away from the United States, I never heard of you until the tragic events of 9/11. And through the reconstruction of those tragic events, I have learned about your courage and your love to call your husband from your plane after the terrorists had taken control of it and give valuable information about the weapons (cutters and knifes) that they had used to take control of it, helping so to improve the security of the flights after those tragic events of 9/11. Through the comments about 9/11 in the press, I have also learned that you were a clever lawyer and journalist, searching and defending the truth and your values in your own comments, and I have also learned that you were a wonderful, beautiful, and lovely person, loved by your friends and loved ones. For sure your soul is now resting in peace beside our almighty God, taking care of your own country, family, and loved ones, and for me it would be a great privilege to meet you someday in heaven whenever our almighty God wants! You will be always in my heart, and I will love you forever, from here to eternity and even beyond that, when we might be starring and loving stars in the infinite universe!
Yours,
Alberto (from far-away Argentina)

Barbara and I had a chance meeting in 1988 while I was working at a D.C. law firm. Little did I know my life would never be the same again after meeting her. We talked for hours about Ronald Reagan and dogs. Over the years she was a guiding light, my north star while raising my two girls. The love that she had for life transformed everyone around her. I carry her smile in my heart each day, hoping we will meet again in God's grace. Maggie, Reagan, Thor, and I will love you always.

She was a soldier for truth and lost her life in pursuit of truth! The cowards who took her light from this world hide in caves! We will never forget 9/11!
We miss you Barbara!

As the seventh anniversary approaches, I think of you often, Barbara, and can still see your smiling face. I remember the old days at the Press Club and envision you in your chair on Larry King. May God bless you and keep you; may you always rest in peace, friend.

Hi. This was the only way I could post something, but I lost my son on 9/11. He was only 15 years old. He died on American Airlines Flight 77. I loved my son very much. I still do. But for the family of Barbara Olson, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I know that my son and Barbara were on the same flight, and they were there watching my son. He is my hero.

I only "knew" Barbara from seeing her on TV news programs, but after all this time, I still think of her and can vividly picture her beautiful face and her smile that lit up the room. I still miss seeing her and hearing her intelligent views.

I was familiar with Barbara only through the medium of modern television, but I was always impressed with her intelligent, articulate, and passionate expression of opinion. I truly miss her presence among the commentators on the national scene, and I am thankful to have had the opportunity to listen to her speak.
Mr. Ted Olson was a class act and an inspiration in the days after 9-11, and I extend my sympathies but also want to commend him and his beloved wife for having served their country so well. Thank you both for your public service.

I was so sorry to hear of the loss of Barbara. I loved seeing her with Nancy Grace on Larry King Live and so admired her for her conviction of right and wrong and that we should all be accountable for our actions. She is truly missed I am sure by her husband, family and friends and her fans. Hopefully she knew she had fans like me who believe in
truth and justice. A beautiful lady from the inside out.

All that fall, I used to take flowers and visit the ad hoc memorial site on the hill overlooking the Pentagon. I saw the tree that Barbara's friends and loved ones had made into a memorial for her...one note said, "You were so brave." She was. They all were.

Barbara, I worked for you in 1989, or thereabouts at Wilmer, Cutler. Every time I eat bean curd, or drink something soy - I remember you. Every once and while I run into someone who knew you. I think of you often. I can only pray you are at peace now.

Dear Barbara,
It infuriates me when people denigrate the memory of you and others who died by their stupid, pointless, politicized theories. I loved reading your books and seeing you on the talk shows. Every time I think of you or hear the words "seventy-seven" or "Pentagon" I get sad then angry. I think of you a lot and was very upset when I saw on the Internet that you were one of the victims since you were on your way to the Politically Incorrect show. How terrible too that your husband Thedore's birthday was 9-11. Rest in peace and we will continue to fight your battles for you.

I was always pleased to see Barbara as a guest on one of the talk shows. She was a warm spirited person and had a great disposition, even under fire. She was always candid and straight forward, backing her comments up with logic and sourced information. I'm sure she faced death with the same courage she faced life with.
God bless her and keep her. I hope I am there to see her in the resurrection.

I would tune in to Larry King Live to watch Barbara tell it like it was during the Gary Condit scandal. I was shocked when I found out she died during this tragedy.
I pray for her and everyone that things will be okay...

Although I did not agree with her on many things, I still feel the loss of her spirit and the fight she brought to her cause. You see, even we liberals have hearts and heart songs we listen to.

I cannot still believe this all happened. Barbara Olson was a wonderful Conservative person whose wisdom helped me see [...]. I know she was a born again believer in Jesus Christ. I know I will see her and many others again someday! God Bless America!

It's sad that 176 people have visited this page yet not too many comments. I met Barbara's sister after this horrible event. I had lost my loved one in Tower Two, she had lost her beloved sister. We were both grieving and hearing what a wonderful sister Barbara was, I had to run out and get her book. Of course I recognised the beautiful woman on tv but never made the connection. My prayers and thoughts still go out to Barbara's family, esp her sister.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
what kind of person he/she was,
what nice points you remember about him/her,
what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
what you two perhaps did together,
what he/she meant to you,
or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

This web site is affiliated with 24K Gold Music Shows - an oldies music showband performing in Central Florida. The members of the showband feel strongly that there were many heroes manifested during the onslaught of terror associated with 9-11, and present this site as a memorial to those whose lives were lost, and the loved ones they left behind.
24K Gold Music Shows perform primarily 50-60s Oldies, Elvis songs, DooWop, and older country music, as well as patriotic songs. All of the musicians, singers, dancers, and staff of the 24K Gold Music Shows extend their deepest sympathies to every one who lost loved ones on that terrible day.
24K Gold Music Shows performs an original song called "The Day America Cried", which is a 9-11 tribute song. In the live shows, they honor with the song not only the heroes of 9-11 but also those who are still alive: the police personnel, firefighters, emergency personnel, soldiers, and others who have served our country and kept us all safe.
Listen also to this beautiful, touching song "Love Can Build a Bridge" by 24K Gold Music Shows. Even though strictly speaking it's not a 9-11 memorial song, I still feel it is a very fitting song for the occasion!
