Betty Ong,

You were so brave, and you are not forgotten. I hope that you are an angel in heaven and that everything is better for you than it is here on planet Earth for us.

Peace to you,
tr

Betty,

I just want to say that you're my hero. People like you save me from my everyday fears. You help me move on and be strong. I can listen to your voice on that tape and shed a thousand tears for you.  R.I.P., Betty Ong.

Ovviamente non posso averti conosciuto, ma mi impressiona quanto leggo nelle traduzioni della telefonata, e dopo tanto tempo ancora forte l'emozione. Riposa in pace.

[Ed. - Obviously I couldn't have known you, but it made a big impression on me to read the translations of the telephone call, and after so much time has passed, the emotion is still strong. Rest in peace.]

Though I never knew you, the strength and courage you showed in the final moments of Flight 11 gave me a degree of solace in dealing with the loss of a family member on that beautiful, horrible day. And through that loss, I was honored to have met your beautiful sisters. God bless your family.

Betty,

Almost nine years have passed since you left us. It still seems like yesterday, and how time has moved so quickly! It is hard to believe that you are not with us. Oh, how I wish you were still here. Even now, on days when I am sad or need a little lift, I am content with looking back at your picture below the stars and next to the silhouettes of the awesome twin towers, seeing the brightness in your eyes and remembering the joy and goodness you always shared with everyone. Even to this day, many I am sure, but for me think that seeing you again somewhere or somehow would be one's greatest dream and hope. Love you and miss you, Bee.

A great lady.

Dear Betty,

Your last words, "PRAY FOR US. PRAY FOR US"—I cannot forget those words and that heroism and bravery. We miss you every day. You are the bravest, most courageous woman I have ever seen in my life. Sometimes I feel so bad for such a terrible, black day. But I will always remember you as a hero of AMERICA. Miss you, Betty.... lots of love.

You are my hero. You will never be forgotten. Thank you.

I really loved Betty. She was like a sister to me. She lived next door to me and my family, and every year on 9/11 I go back to Andover and wish I could just see Betty one more time. She was a really good friend to my family, and I never got to thank her for that. I love you, Betty, and miss you so much.

Dear Betty,

I have heard the tapes with your voice trying to save the plane, and you and the other flight attendants are true heroes. May you rest in peace. What you went through I cannot even begin to imagine, but up until my last breath I will fight against terrorism. Rest in peace, Betty Ong, and forever we will remember you made the ultimate sacrifice.

I didn't know you, Betty. I live at the bottom of the world in New Zealand, but recently I saw a documentary and heard your voice. Wherever you are, I wish you peace

The first time I heard it on the news, I didn't know that it was a terrorist attack till the second plane hit.

Rest in peace, Betty. You always will be remembered.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
