I feel very sad for you and the others who were aboard the plane. All you were going to do was your job, but it was just ruined. My heart goes out to you and your family and friends for the tragic day you had. Rest in peace, you sweet, beautiful woman.

Forever remembered and young in our hearts.

In loving memory of Betty Ann Ong—Bee:

Bee, you left us, and now we are just an empty field,
left with a world shed of the beauty for us to no longer see, reasons we can't understand,

Bee, now engraved in our hearts, our ambitions lost in suspense, like lost leaves drifting swiftly along the Nile

Bee, you comforted us in awe, a miracle fulfilled,
our appeal for you, grateful to you we are so indebted,
then a World so perfectly complete, mountains, waters born from your dearest touch, looking on unseeing you where you were, all nights are not bright until we see you, and are bright only if you are there

Bee, you are my all the World, I must strive,
to know my shames and praises from your sounds, we used to hear, found how torn the world was, after you said pray for us and goodbye, your courageous sacrifice, mourns us with eyes too moist

Bee, you are so strongly in my purpose for a just a brief glance, I cannot hesitate, even with my life to dispense, for that chance, awakes my heart to delight, with utmost respect

Bee, Profound in our sight of you, we throw our love, and honor, So much from you we received, now we are so indebted
We are not worthy, grief lies forward, and joy falls behind

Bee, your farewell is still faint since that autumn morning,
Now the spring blossoms come late, all creations, your beloved, faltering since your last words.

You and Amy did a great thing. Without you guys calling and telling the control center you were being hijacked, we may not as many details we know today. Thank you so much for all this.

I did not know you, but I listened to the call you made on the morning of September 11th. It was so sad. I cried too much, and you really touched me. I feel like you were such an amazing person, and I can tell by your picture and your voice that you really were a great caring person. It must have been so hard for you that day. I feel so sad after listening to you and realizing that you passed away that day.

I wish I knew you because you are simply incredible. How calm and brave you were just makes me admire you. I hope I can be as good as a person you were.

On this day of remembrance, the Ong family is grateful for all the kind words and thoughts. We keep the memory of those who perished on 9/11 alive in our hearts today and always. Our family miss Betty very much and keep her legacy alive by working with children whom Betty adored. We hope that the horrific events of 9/11 will keep us vigilant so that this tragedy will never occur again in America and that there will be peace throughout the world.

It is with great admiration that I remember Betty Ong on this day. In the face of such overwhelming circumstances, Betty was poised, brave, and provided a voice through the darkness on that day. I am grateful for the example of courage she left. Her life was far too short but her legacy will live on. Thank you Betty for doing your best on this day 8 years ago.

You are a true hero, Betty. Even with the situation you were in, you managed to stay calm and act heroically. I will never forget you. x

Even though I never met you, listening to the 9-11 call you made, you sounded surprisingly calm. Even though you knew your life was going to end soon, you were still brave.

My thoughts go out to Betty's friends and family. I heard Betty's 9/11 phone call several years ago, and I was personally inspired by her calmness and bravery. She forever affected the way I deal with stressful situations in my life. Thank you so much, Betty, for setting the example and changing my life in such a positive way. Your time on earth may have been short, but your great spirit will inspire people forever....

In honor of and tribute to Betty Ann Ong—

The guardian angel and first soldier of bravery that you are will always be held in America's highest honor. I can't think of anyone as courageous in all the conflicts of U.S. or even World history who could have performed as well under the same atmosphere of danger and duress, threatened by tyrants with weapons, and unable to breathe from mace in the air. While held captive inside a speeding, doomed vessel, Bee voluntarily took a leadership position to help save thousands of lives—she phoned federal authorities that helped in their investigations (acknowledged by herself the fact that her own life was about to end in minutes.) If anyone deserves the "Medal of Honor," it should without doubt be awarded to Betty Ann Ong. Thanks, Bee, for your patriotism and service to our country!

When the worst of humanity descends like a dark night, the best of humanity shines like a bright star against the blackness. Betty Ong was that star.
