To my dearest brother, I love you Brian you always kept me laughing in the firehouse. Though you beat me in 1 chess game, I vividly remember answering the phone talking to my daughter and the next thing I knew you were 2 moves away from check mating me. The only game you ever won. You make my life enjoyable when we work together. We argue about your ice cream because you always wanted to buy 2 of them for your second tour. You never saw my Spanish heritage you always make me feel as if I was your older brother. You are a special person that comes once in a lifetime, I love you and miss you so much. I have a palm tree planted in front of my house in the state of Georgia. I gave it your name in memory of you. God Bless your brother in ladder 105 and your family and your wife and your children.i remember your 1st tour coming as a probie, Stan and you, I have so many memories of you never forgot.

Brian, I never had the honor of meeting you, but am lucky enough to be counted among Greg Fix' friends. Each year on St. Patrick's Day, we watch a video about you and your life and try to support Greg as he continues to mourn the loss of his best friend. We raise money to go to your Foundation and raise our glasses to you- your sacrifice has not been forgotten and it never will be.

To John McAleese and Family, Hi John, Again I cannot begin to say how sorry I am for the loss of your brother Brian. When I run into you in the neighborhood as so many we all still grieve for you and your entire family.

I am an Engine Captain at the Trenton Mercer Airport Fire Department. I went to the towers the night of the 11th until the night of the 17th. I must admit that I never knew Brian, however I received a stainless steel bracelet with Brian's name and Engine on it a few weeks after I got home that horrible September. I have never taken it off since. I think of my brother Brian every day, even though we have never met. Peace to the family. I for one will never forget.

I can honestly say that I think of Brian just about each day. Last week a dear friend from high school was visiting from Florida, and we met in Baldwin. Tyrone Greene and I were good friends with Brian during high school. I told Tyrone about the re-naming of Brian's old street, and we reminisced about the great times we shared with Brian. When we left the restaurant, standing in front of us was Mrs. MacAleese! We introduced ourselves to her, and Tyrone stayed behind to chat with her. I walked away from them full of emotions, just thinking that it was Brian that brought us there that moment! He has forever left a mark in my life! Love you, Brian!

Dear McAleese family,

I am especially remembering Brian today, coming up on the 9th anniversary of such an unthinkable tragedy. I particularly remember Brian hanging out at my Dad's house when he was in high school, with his best friend, Greg Fix... (my Dad was married to Greg's Mom) and the two of them together were so cute and funny - and ALL they talked about was becoming NYC Fire fighters...

John, Pat, Kevin, Maureen (you were so young when I knew you)..and Mrs. McAleese - your family is in my prayers!

Dear McAleese Family
Although you did not know my family, I knew of you from your sister Pat.
We would like to dedicate the 2010 MS Twin Forks Bike Ride to you and your family. We pray for your family every day and have been through the years. I hope that we and others can continue to keep moving forward to keep up the great work you did for Multiple Sclerosis.
Always in our prayers,
The Cusimano Family

This week I spoke with a good friend of Brian's, John Cafferty, and of course we told a few Brian stories ... and then of course we laughed and cried. Thanks for such great times and great memories, Brian.... You were a big part of my younger years.... You are thought about often, and I am thrilled that I am updated with your family often on FB....

Great times. Great memories. Great friends. You're always in my heart, dear friend.

Although I was very young when you passed away, and did not know you as well as I would've loved to, I know how much you mean to my parents. I keep your memory alive at my school by telling of your kind and funny spirit (my parents told me about it) in English papers and even some public speaking. You were a true hero, and I will never forget. My prayers are still always with your family.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
