The horror of 9/11 is being relived through the film United 93. I was in Australia when this horrible event unfolded September 11, 2001, and only realized weeks later when, I returned to Toronto, the full extent of how deeply it effected me. Several of my associates, bond traders all of them, had perished.

I went to highschool with Arron (Jarvis C.) in Toronto, he was on the swim team that I captained. I remember him as the very funny adolesent who always wore a green bathing cap to practice. Sorrily, I missed his memorial in Toronto the following year; it is obvious that he grew to be a fine person. The world lost many that horrible day.

I would have loved to meet this man but, alas,I can't.  His daughter is now in my son's 5th grade class and I talk to his wife everyday when I pick my son up.  She is a wonderful woman and something tells me that she would have married a great guy.

Many years ago, while still a student, Arron worked with us for a semester at the Ontario Ministry of Environment's Waste Management Branch.  Though it's been a long time, I still remember his cheerful good humour and kindness.

He and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.

The Arron I remember wore desert boots and a brown corduroy jacket and was always in the company of his friends/co-conspirators.  It was a wonderful time in 1975 - I will always remember Arron and send his family healing thoughts.

The first time I met Aaron was in 1990 when I shared an apartment with Ken Mandel. We had a small music studio there.  One Saturday Aaron dropped by to see Ken.  When he saw the equipment set-up he pulled a harmonica from his back pocket, honked on it while doing a James Brown good-foot imitation and  said "let's jam". I could tell right then that Aaron was clearly someone who had his Mojo workin'. What followed was a hilarious afternoon of music, laughs. To hear that he was in one of the world trade towers on Sept. 11 was and still is heartbreaking. Iím sure Aaron would want his life celebrated, not mourned. While I feel a deep sadness with his death, Iíll hold onto the memory of a really good guy. To those who new him no explanation is necessary. Wherever you are Aaron - I know you got your Mojo workin'.

Arron - you were always nice, funny and sweet - I think of you still often.  I will remember you always.

I'm listening to Sunny Boy Williamson. A fabulous Harp player. I play the harp now, perhaps not as good as you Arron. Anyway you traded in your old harp for a new kind. i wonder if you took a long time in choosing it. and did you get a good deal.

In my thought

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
