I am the most fortunate of all because when they were selling the copper bracelets, I got Capt. Joseph Farrelly's. I would like his family and friends to know that after all these years I keep it shining like a star and wear it with pride. I'm sorry I never met this hero, but I have done some research on Capt. Farrelly, and I know he was a decent man who would have done anything for anyone—and he did on September 11th, 2001. God bless this man and his family!

I remember when we joined So.Old Bridge Vol. Fire Dept., it was you, Bobby, Brian, Jeff, and myself, the 1st 18-year olds to be allowed to actually fight fires. All firefighters' sons, I think that urge to to be in this profession runs deep, but yours ran the deepest, you were a leader, to my thinking long before you knew it. I remember when I bogged down one of the Powerwagons fighting a good sized brush fire near the reservoir, you immediately knew exactly what to do and jumped out and started to direct the guys to set the winch and keep the flames away from the truck, we were out in less than 5 minutes, and the day you, Brian, and I spent a whole day running a Powerwagon all over the town when we had one of the huge late summer brush fires that took days to get out, you took charge then, and the three of us put out a lot of fire that day. We all had a good laugh after at my expense as the shift knob of that beautiful beast of a truck wore a giant blister through my right palm that stayed with me for two months. They were the best times of my life, Joe, and you were always there to take the lead and get the job done. I miss you Joe, you will always be the tops in my book. Fearless, incredibly smart, and passionate about your work - that's how I will always remember you... most of all a genuine leader of men. God Bless my Brother, until we meet again.

Joe, I miss you more and more each day. Though I know you're beside me as I continue in this world, I also know that we will be together again. I love you with all my heart. When I see our children, I see you.
Always, your wife,
Stacey

I was in 5th grade when my teacher sat my class down and told us that terrorists attacked our country. When I was little i always wanted to be a fire-fighter and i respect all those who died in honor in 9/11

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
