I did not personally know Victor Saracini but I am a 1959 graduate of New Mexico Tech where he attended undergraduate school. There is a Memorial Scholarship Fund established at NM Tech in his honor and would suggest a contribution in rememberance of this fine Capt of Flight UA 175.

I am a flt attendant and every time I fly to NY City I try to glance out the window if just for a minute to take the time to let those nearly 3000 ppl know that there is no possible way I could ever forget. And to remember the crew members and what they must have been going through. God Bless them for their courage and commitment.

Dear Brielle,
I remember with you this weekend the terrible day 10 years ago when your father died and so much of you and your spirit died with him. I know you miss him every day. I respect you for all your courage and effort to become healed as much as possible and to have brought to me and our class your experience and inner life and aspirations that followed. May God bless you with continued healing and bless your vocation to guide others to healing.
May your father rest in peace looking upon you with every
interest and every affection.

Respectfully,
Professor Schervish

On this tenth anniversary of that fateful morning (I do not know Victor personally but I feel as if I do) I often think of the Captains of the flights and what their last hours or moments were like. I think they are often forgotten in all of the sheer hell of that day. I know that Victor has a daughter and my heart really breaks for her and his whole family.

Dear Mr. Saracini,

I send you and your family the utmost sympathy. On Facebook I joined a group started by your daughter Brielle, called "Never Forget United Flights 175 and 93." I know you tried to save as many lives as you could on flight 175. God bless you and your family.

Hello. I am a flight attendant for Continental. I live in NJ. I have created a flight crew memorial in West Orange, NJ. You can see it at Eagle Rock Memorial.com. This September 11 there will be a ceremony. I flew with a crew member who knows Victor's wife. I want to reach out to everyone who lost a crew member that day. The service this year is to remember the first people to die in the line of duty. It would be an honor to have the family members of all 33 crew members there on September 11. This is a dream come true! I am sure you all feel the same. My e-mail is DebCal123 (at) hotmail (dot) com

Still cant believe this took place. Just know that we're watching over "all of the girls"-Annie included, as you would have wanted. They are all very strong and you'd be very proud. Godspeed.

I assisted in the memorial service for Victor's first officer, Michael Horrocks. Ellen Saracini attended that service to give support to Miriam Horrocks. A show of support unequaled!!
The airline personal involved in that atrocious act are heroes all.
They are in my prayers, always.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
