I did not know Charles Waters but on 9-24-2011 I visited the 911 Memorial in NYC with a group of Landscape Architects. I wanted to rub with charcoal a name of a person on the memorial and just happened to choose Charles Waters. I was touched and hope you all get a chance to see this fitting memorial.  Jerome E. To my dear cousin "Brother"
I think of you often. Of the many Thanksgivings we shared at your house with all of the cousins. I pray for your family and hope they find peace.

Brother, You and Annie are still talked about and missed terribly. We know you both are watching down on the family. Loved and Missed forver.

I saw the first image and thought they were filming a movie. It was true "shock and awe". It brought about fear. Then, watching the towers fall, I started to cry. I cried for the victims, EMTs, Fire, Police. My brother is an EMT an I till worry for him. (He would be one to run into the building regardless of his own safety)
When I think of the disaster of 9/11, I still cry after all these years.
I was just googling my name when I found this sight. God Bless my name sake.

I was at the Planting Fields Arboretum Oyster Bay on this beautiful fall Sunday morning. While walking along a wooded path with a friend, we sat down on a wooded bench. On the bench was a dedication to you: Date of death, 9/11/01. Oddly enough, I had my NYPD/FDNY 9-11-01 NEVER FORGET windbreaker on. So I googled your name and would just like to say "R.I.P." to a bro.

I rode in your memory on 9-11 in a motorcycle memorial ride. I felt your presence and know you are in a better place.... GOD BLESS. Tell my Little Angel Lyric hello from her daddy, please. 9-11 was hell for us, too....

I, too, googled my name and was touched by what I found. God bless you, my namesake. I was working in the American Express Tower, and I just happened to be off that day (9-11-01) to attend a funeral mass deep out in Queens, if not the beginning of Long Island. Again, god bless you and your family, as well as "God bless America."

Your love of life, your antics, your laugh, your smile live on in the hearts of all who had the opportunity to cross paths with you. Prayers for Barbara and the children

I still think about you and wonder how your family members are doing.  I don't understand, you were too young and too good a person to have left this world so early.  However, if I can still remember your kindheartedness from so many years ago, I know your good deeds and values held on this earth are embedded within your children.  They are the ones that will carry on your good spirit.  I hope your family can remain strong until they meet you again.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
