I miss ya so much, You and Danny were such great friends to me and took me under your wing when I got stationed there. It seems just like yesterday, but now the 10 yrs anniversary approaches. I miss ya so much.

Chris was the FUNNIEST man I knew. I miss him very much. He always made me laugh and always had some sort of porta potty story for me. I am proud to say that Chris is my friend and I continue to pray for his family. We love you Chris - Cheetah!

It has been 8 years now yet you are still remembered in my heart and prayers. We had some great times and many laughs together. You were a great roommate, an exceptional person, and even a better friend. Many years later, you still bring a smile to my face! God Speed.

Past friends who come across this board... please feel free to contact me at crockett_t@hotmail.com to share in fond memories of Cheetah!

It has been 8 LONG years, and it still hurts like it was yesterday! I still remember it like it was yesterday. I had to leave work to sit by the phone in hopes of a call from him. I haven't had the strength to locate any family of my dear friend. For two years, through basic, tech, and "A" school, we lived in the same room. We would talk on the phone regularly after that. I deeply miss my friend! I'll see you on the other side. You are the Six Legged Cheetah, and you hold a special place in my life, as I have named my youngest son in your honor.

This is to Chris and his family:

As the anniversary of Chris's tragic death approaches again, I find myself still missing him but even more grateful for the appreciation of life he gave me.  I made a promise to myself two years ago that I would do everything I could to honor him in every aspect of my life, and by some means repay him for all he gave me.  I want to tell the world what a generous and committed young man he was and how, even at an early age, he showed an uncanny understanding for seeing the big picture and knowing what really matters in life.

Chris, I can only hope that I do honor you with everything I do with my life and that you realize your sacrifice was not in vain.  I also hope there will come a day when I can meet with your family and let them know what a fine son they raised.  So much has happened in my life that I wish we could just kick back and talk about, and even though that is impossible, not a day goes by that I don't share it with you in some way. You are still missed, bro, and you are as alive in my heart today as you have always been.

It has been over 2 years and I am still not over the death of my friend.  I keep a memorial picture on my wall and think about the "Great Cheetah" often.  I miss you Chris.  Your death was a great loss to all that have ever had the privelege of knowing you, even if it was for a short time.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
