Chris,
We never met. You were a former Mountaineer, I am a Marshall graduate. They paid tribute to you at the Norfolk State game on Saturday. May you rest in peace. Go Mountaineers.

Checking in again Chris. They honored you at the game Saturday, your brother Tim stood in for you. The memorial in NY is beautiful, fitting.

I remember the advice you gave me as a young freshman at West Virginia at every cookout.... I know you were probably helping others on that fateful day.... May God bless you and your family.

I met Chris in Morgantown when he was going to school and playing for the WVU Mountaineers. We had a lot of fun times, and I have fond memories of him as well. He was a great person with a great personality. I hope to see him one day in heaven. God bless.

Once a mountaineer, always a mountaineer. I did not know Chris, but as a WVU fan, I always respected him and appreciated the way he represented the state and the university.

Mayor Gray and family,
I am one of Tim's former high school teachers. Sadly, I did not have Chris as one of my students, but I remember how much Tim talked about him with love and admiration. Each year I think of all of you and pray that God will somehow ease your pain. May your love and memories of Chris keep your family strong. Your family and the families of all of the victims are in my prayers.
Respectfully,
Loretta Roe

I met Chris through my best friend Chas who played football with him at West Virginia. He was one of the greatest guys I have ever met on this remembrance of those fallen heroes of that day, it is 9/11/09 and I will never forget the person that left us on that sunny day in fall. I feel he is looking down on us as our angel. God bless you, Chris, and your family on the most important day against terriny in American history. God speed.

Still remembering you and thinking about you from our days at Lasser Marshalls back in 1994. You are in my thoughts and prayers still—a tragic loss. You will not be forgotten.

Chris,
To my very "first" boyfriend whom I miss terribly ... so many years have gone by, yet it seems like yesterday you were riding your "really cool bike" to my house to say a quick "hello." Those days I will cherish always! As I celebrate my birthday February 4 (same as yours), I remember your parents taking us to Ground Round for dinner and ice cream in Yankee cup holders! So many years went by, Chris, with so many changes for both of us, and yet in my high school year book you wrote, "I will always love you." I have read that a million times since that day, and I want to tell you that you will forever have a special place in my heart! I can only hope that my two daughters are lucky enough to have their lives touched by a person that they will remember forever!
All my love,
Jennifer

Hello to the Gray family. I am happy to find this on the web so that I might send this note. I would like to say hi to both Jay and Tim Gray, and that I am thinking of you guys on this day. I have a son, Mason, and a daughter, Marissa, that will know the impact of this day and that it is personal to me, their father. Toast in the highest regards to the Gray family from the Vatters boys that lived in the cul de sac down the block.
You are not forgotten in my mind. My outfit, the Blake School, has a girder from the WTC because a student named Aamoth persished at WTC and another MN perished on the flight that crashed in PA. You guys are not forgotten to me. I smacked the girder today and said, "What's up, Chris?"
Hi Tim, Hi Jay, and to Mrs. and Mr. Gray.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
