Another year has passed, and it seems like yesterday, I can still remember Claribel's smile and her happy-go-lucky spirit that she had and shared with all of us. I believe in the after life and I know somewhere Claribel you are looking down us, and watching over your family, I pray for your family strength and prayer in everything that they do, that everything is ok with them, to her family, Eslyn and the the children, never forgot Claribel as she was a great and inspiring young lady and God just had a higher calling where someday we will meet again and she will explain....

Claribel:

Just thinking about you today. Every time I talk about you to people and tell them how special you've been in my life, it's like they know you, too, or they just wished they had the chance to meet you. I miss you very much and I love you, too. I wish the best for your family. I know that you're shining brightly like a star on them. You are a beautiful angel, and I will never, ever forget you. You taught me how to be a good friend, and that's priceless. You will forever be in my heart.

Love,
Annmarie

I had posted this on another website 4 years ago - http://www.prayersforpeace.org/people/memory1212.shtml - and post it here today in Speptember 2006 - God bless you all -

To Claribel's family - today, 9/11/02, I sang in the Rolling Requiem, wearing a badge for Claribel. I dedicated my singing to her. After our performance, I found the article in the Boston Globe online, telling a little more about Claribel - the shoes and her chance to go for a great job. My heart is with you all, though we will never meet in this life. My 18 year old son died in March 2001. Memories of him are still painful, yet tender. Claribel will be remembered. God bless you all. Claribel was one of my favorite aunts. She was always blunt, which I hated, yet loved @ the same time. She was always honest, which is the best way to be. Her laugh would always make me smile. She was so caring, and nice... and funny. She always knew how to brighten up someone's day, even if they were feeling miserable. I miss her so much, and I wish I could see her one last time... But, I know she's watching down on all of us, and she's in a better place now, not wanting us to worry about her, or miss her. She'll see us again...

I worked with Clara's husband Izzy years ago at Barrie House Coffee.

Izzy, every year I think about you and your family and couldn't let another year go by without expressing my feelings. May god give you peace to know your loved one is sitting on the throne with him wearing beautiful wings. She is sitting high and looking down on you and the kids watching you be a wonderful father and provider. I watched all the programs 2day with my head bowed down wishing this was all a bad dream. I remember Clara use to call the job for you and I would answer the call she was so soft spoken and always polite. Izzy live for god so that you can meet up with her again and continue where yall left off.. She is just away for a little while until yall meet again. If you want to contact me Lola that worked for Lisa Mccarthy has my email address. I will continue to pray strength for you and your family and I know Clara would be proud of you for holding it down! You will forever be in my prayers!

Claribel,

I miss you so much.  Not that we saw each other that much, with me always traveling or not taking the time to visit.  But I promise you I see my dad and your mom more often now.  It's still not enough though.  And your kids, they're so beautiful.  Joseph is tall and still sweet.  Stephanie is so smart and gorgeous.  She likes to write, isnt' that great?  But you know all this don't you.  I know you're watching them and loving them every step of the way.  Just know that we all miss you so very much.  I think of you every day.  Thank you for being such a wonderful person when you were here with us and I know you're an angel now.

Love your sister,
Gianna

You are in my prayers and thoughts and remembered every anniversary with a special Mass for you and your good friend and colleague, Gabriela Waisman, all the way in Connecticut -- far from New York where we worked at WTC.  I never had the opportunity to meet your family or attend your memorial, but you are never forgotten and never will be.

God bless,
Carol

I knew Claribel from my old neighborhood. And even though we were not close and I had not seen her for 15 years I was very saddened to see that she had died in the wtc attacks. I saw her picture in the newspaper a few days after the attacks. Not a holiday goes by that I don't think about her and her family. I hope that Eslyn and her children are doing well as can be expected. And That they know that they are in my thoughts and prayers.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
