I am proud to share the name of Clint Davis with a brave, kind, dedicated person who lost his life at the Trade Center 10 years ago. May the memories of him remain strong in the minds of all those who love and miss him. I hope I never need to demonstrate the same strengths of character that he did on that fateful day. I doubt if many of us could measure up to all those who, like Clint, lost their lives as heroes.

Today we honored Clinton Davis, Sr., among several others as heroes, at church today. Clinton Jr., you may remember a Deputy stepping out of line at National Police Week in 2002 and giving you a prayer coin. He is our Pastor in Apple Valley, California and we remember your father. You might like to hear his sermon from today titled "Where Was God?" http://www.blog.calvaryav.org/?page_id=26 We will always remember, and we are praying for you and your family.

Clinton and I were best friends from like 2nd to 3rd grade in P,.S. 20. He and I were always together because we were different. We lost lost touch and one day I saw my BF in Uniform in the World trade and was so proud to see him. We exchanged numbers and talked about how grown his baby sisters were and how I his BF was a mom. Never did I think I would never see him again. I love you Clinton, you will always be in my heart, you and I made a difference letting people know that it was ok to be different in 2nd or 3rd grade.

I am from the United Kingdom, and I was in New York on 9/11/2010. I heard your name being read out, one name from a list of thousands. I googled you, and here I am. I also visited Liberty and Ellis Islands that same day. My hair stood on end from dawn to dusk. At Ground Zero, so many lives were lost due to the failings of the few. At Liberty and Ellis Islands, so many lives were just about to begin in the dangerously unknown new world. On 9/11/2010, all nationalities from all over the globe were together in unity, past and present. God bless the United States of America. God bless you, Clinton Davis.

Clint words can't express how much your family miss you. You died being a hero,  which most people will never get a chance to do. So as I would say, you were on God's special list. Love always, your cousin Jamison

My friend Maike and I were doing some research at school when we stumbled upon a photo of Clinton Davis. Seeing his photo made us feel very sad, and we would like to pay our respects.

I was a AV tech who brought AV equipment to both towers. I did so early that day, and I saw Clinton when I was leaving. He could have left when the first plane crashed, as did many, but he as well as his fellow police stayed and did their jobs to save everyone else in the towers—at the cost of their lives. How can we thank Clinton and his fellow officers enough for what they has given us all on 9-11?

I just wanted the Davis family to know that I received a memorial bracelet with Clinton's name on it soon after the attacks. I wear it so people will ask me what it is, and I can tell them that it honors a hero who died on 9-11, so they will be reminded that those attacks really did happen, and we must NEVER forget. Of course, I never knew your loved one, but that bracelet reminds me every day of all who perished that day. I will never forget, and I will forever be humbled by the bravery of Clinton and the other heroes. God bless you all.

To the Davis family,

I did not know your dad. However, my husband and I began fostering a lab puppy back in March for the Transportation Security Administration. He is training to be a bomb dog at airports. He, too, is training to save lives. Every dog born in the program is named in honor of someone who died on 9/11. Our dog's name is Clinton Davis, but he goes by Davis. I was curious to know what kind of man the real Clinton Davis was, so I looked him up. From what I read Mr. Davis sounded like a valiant and heroic man. I believe that Clinton Davis was the appropriate name for our dog. He is strong, loving, loyal, intelligent, hilarious, and fearless. We are fairly confident that he will pass his training and spend his life making sure we are all safe. I just wanted your family to know that your father is being remembered and honored. I hope our Davis makes you and your family proud.

Clinton Davis was my friend, my co-worker and my partner for a number of years.  We went to the police academy together and worked together for the first 8 years on the job.  He was my doubles partner in the NY State Law Enforcement Games and we won medals together in doubles bowling.  He was a great friend, great father to his kids, and he will always be remembered as a true hero!  God Bless you Clint!!

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
