9-11 always brings to mind Cora. She will be in my thoughts forever.

Cora is the aunt of our dear friend Joe. We know he misses her deeply. We just want to let the family know we pray for all of you often and may God continue to give you comfort and strengh.

Remembering Cora today, and throughout the years.

Ten years later and Cora will never be forgotten. She was a very special woman filled with much love. I was blessed to know Cora through our Church.

Always in my heart,
Janet Mc.

Steve, Jessica, Nathaniel--All of the women of Housestaff Associated Women (HAW) are still grateful to Cora for the way she took care of us in Seattle during residency. Most of us were far from our homes, having our first children and Cora was the experienced "mother" figure for all of us. She was a friend to all, compassionate, caring and fun loving. And not only was she a good mother but a great daughter. It is my understanding she was on her way to visit and help her mother when this terrible EVIL crossed her path. We loved Cora and our love and hearts go out to each of you.

I am in high school, and today they handed out red ribbons and stickers with names on them in honor of people lost on the tragic day almost 10 years ago. I received a sticker that said "We will always remember. In loving memory of.... Cora Hidalgo Holland" So I Googled her name and I just wanted to say I am very sorry for her families loss. I am sure she was a wonderful lady. You are in my prayers.

I remember Cora fondly, she was a friend in Jr. High at Sturges and in High School at SBHS. Cora was so smart and involved in so many activities I knew her life would be special but I could not have guessed her death would be so tragic. Cora was what is good about America.

I remember hearing Mrs. Holland's name on the show "Starting Over" when her daughter was one of the women learning to cope with their ordeals. To watch her throughout that show learning to cope with the loss of her mom, and watching her grow and use the tools she learned when the anniversary came around has stuck in my head for some reason to the point I've wondered how her daughter was doing, year after year. I hope Jessica and her family have continued to not dwell on how she died, and the day she died, but how she lived. That's the important part and that she will always continue to live on through the life of her children. May God bless all!

I think often of Cora and remember the closeness of our families when we lived in Seattle. Her legacy of kindness and love endures...

I am wearing my yellow ribbon again today on 9-11-09. The yellow ribbon has Cora's name on it. She is remembered -- even by someone who didn't know her. She is missed and thought of often. God Bless Cora's family

Another year and I still miss you very much, Cora. Love you!

I didn't know Cora, but I was given a yellow ribbon with her name on it yesterday (9-11-06) while I visited UT Tyler with my daughter. I would like Cora's family to know that I am personally praying for them and remembering their loved one. God Bless

I watched Jessica's story unfold on Starting Over. Jessica, I hope you and your family are doing well. I did not personally lose someone in 9-11, but I grieve for your family and others in our nation who lost loved ones. Hang in there and know that you have touched lives.

I want to honor this wonderful woman. I do not know her personally or her family, but through seeing her daughter on S O I just feel the urging to honor this family. My prayers are with them daily. May God continue to embrace this family.

I went to Bible study with Cora.  She was an amazing, Godly, wonderful woman.  I still thing of her often and know that she is watching over us.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
