You will never be forgotten, and no one will forget all the times we shared together that no one will regret. We love you, Uncle Dan.

I think about you all the time. I wish there was more I could have done. I am so sorry, Uncle Dan. I love you!

Thank you for all of your thoughts and wishes.

Dan was the most wonderful, loving, caring, warm, kind father and husband.  I am one of the luckiest women in the world to have had Dan as my husband and father of my boys. His love was unconditional, his laughter contagious, his hugs were huge his eyes were so deep and his smile the warmest. To know Dan was to love him.
We miss him each and every moment of everyday.

Kathy/loving wife of Dan

I want your family to know that your family and you are in the thoughts and prayers of every Maher, throughout the world.  May God in his mercy take good care of all of your descendents, throughout all of time.

He had kind eyes...
Though I really didn't know him very well at all, I remember thinking that.  And, it was proven in his family.  I was honestly just a friend of a friend of Mr. Mayer's youngest son, Joe.  However, I have to say that his family made a great impression on me and memories of them still remain in my heart to this day.  Mr. Maher was the best kind of father.  He raised two great men; they were always a pleasure to be around.  And, the Maher family were the best kind of family.  You could hear it, see it, and even smell it in their home.  You felt welcomed right there at the front porch. The couple of times I had the pleasure of being there stick out in my mind all of the time. I remember, especially, a greeting card sitting on a table, maybe for an anniversary, that talked about how Mr. and Mrs. Mayer were born for each other.  The loving relationship he and his wife had was so sweet to witness and almost... inspiring.
I wanted to say, it doesn't feel like two years.  I wanted to say that my heart has and always will go out to Mrs. Mayer, Joe, and Dan, and I think about them all almost every day.  I wanted to say that even from a distance people care, and people pray, and people hope for you three, still.  I wanted to say that I cried hard today,  thinking of your loss.  I wanted to say I smiled with thoughts of you guys.  I wanted to say you're in my thoughts, and always will be.

all my wishes for Joe, his mom, his brother, and friends and family. :-*  xoxoxo

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
