Daniel was a very unselfish and kind man... and a great Puerto Rican cook! I met Daniel in a small church shortly after I moved to NYC when I was a teenager, and he helped me in more ways that I can say - he was that BIG brother figure for me. He was very warm and friendly man, a true Christian man who walked the walk. I am not surprised that he would sacrifice himself for the well being of other... Daniel was a youth leader when I met him and he inspired me to value my Christian faith and strengthened my faith in Christ.
GBU Daniel!

My dad's name was Daniel Lugo, and I was named after him. He disappeared long ago. Whether he was related to this man or not, I send you my prayers and let Jesus be with you all the time.

Daniel was a very Christian person. He believed in everything that was good. When his tower was evacuated, he had a chance to walk away and go home to his wife. He knew what he had to do. He called his wife, said "I love you. I'm fine. Everything's gonna be okay." Instead of going home, he turned and entered the tower again. Along with some of his work colleagues, he proceeded up to the top. They were never seen again. Before he passed, we had a family dispute which was actually September 9th. I was very angry for a long time but, how could you not feel anything but love for a person who sacrificed his life for another? He will always be a true hero to me.

Danny was a cool stepdad ... for a T-Rex. Just kidding. He was caring, understanding, very funny, and always made sure everyone around him were taken care of. For a long time I was angry, but I'm sure he understood why. He had this way of forgiving and forgetting which is pretty unique. Well, I think so. For what he did, for the people he protected and gave his life for, he's definitely a hero in my book.... See you soon, Dan....
Love always,
Susan, Elisa, Tomas, & Triston

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
