You were one of my closest friends while working at NCTS Washington. You were so funny and intelligent. All of us had so many great times together hanging out at work, in the barracks, and going out on the town. It seems just like yesterday that we lost all you guys, and know the 10 yr anniversary is approaching. For some of us its still just as hard as the day it happened. I know you and Chris are probably up there looking down, having a great old time. I just wanted to let you know you will always be loved and never forgotten!

Love ya bro,

Tobie :-)

We talked,
We walked,
for a Moment in Time.

You passed through my life that day and left your mark.
You may never pass my way again,
Or you may stay for a lifetime.

No matter what,
I want to say thank you for the impression you made
that will stay with me for eternity.

I enjoyed the walk,
I enjoyed the talk.
I am blessed for that moment in time.

The first time I saw you I knew you would affect my life,
though your role I did not know.
I asked myself, "Why is he alone?
Why does he sit so quiet, all alone?
Is he sad?
Is he glad to be alone?
Is he alone?
Is he lonely? "
There is so much I want to know.

I asked myself, "Why him?
When so many people pass through my life each day,
why him? "

What attracts me to you?
What makes me want to know more?
I want to know.

Even if my questions are never answered,
There is one thing I want you to know.
I have been blessed by the effect you had on me in that
Moment in Time.

I woke up this morning thinking about Daniel, whom I never knew, and about his family. You are in my prayers on this difficult day.

I personally worked with Danny as his LPO at the Pentagon. He was my rock. I used to depend on him for a great deal. He was the nicest guy with the biggest heart. He felt like the little brother I never had. He has been and always will be greatly missed. God bless.

I had the honor of personally knowing Daniel and his family. Two weeks before 9/11, I was able to talk with him for about two hours when he came to visit his father where his father and I work. He was interested in fixing up his El Camino and spending time with his family. His memory is one that I will always cherish. I know that one day the two of us will be able to meet again in eternity.

I SALUTE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Danny I remember was very shy and had a big heart.  It was a long time ago though.  We lost touch over the years but he made it a point to stop by my house to say goodbye to me before he left to the Navy.  That's how sweet he was and he was a great friend.  I miss him and think of him all the time.  My heart goes out to his family.  God bless you.

Daniel, my grandfather used to say what a beautiful name Caballero was, and always make it proud. My brother, Herbert Caballero was also in the Navy, and we both saluted you and will always remember on Memorial Day, Patricia & Herbert Caballero, Memorial Day, 2004.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
