Darren, I think about you every year. It was so like you to stay behind and make sure everyone else got out. Mike, my heart goes out to you and your family and you're also in my prayers every single year. God bless you and I pray He gives you comfort today in remembering how awesome Darren was.

Darren,

I didn't know you, but I'm touched by your death and the events of that sad day. I'm sorry for this tragedy and that you were there. I'm sure you were a wonderful person, and I hope for the best for your family and friends who miss you dearly.

I worked with Darren at a restaurant in Manhattan. Soon after he left the restaurant, he got the job at Aon Corporation and I heard through another work associate that he enjoyed his new job and the view from the top of the World Trade Towers. I enjoyed working with him and we had many excellent conversations in the back room at Swifty's. I have thought of him very often for the last five years. Three years ago I joined the Regular Army and part of the reason I did so, was so that I could serve my Country in it's time of need. I'm in the Army to defend
America and to make sure that wonderful people, like Darren, did not die in vain. We miss you Darren.

If i never had my own son, Darren was as close as i was going to get. We had so much in common, liked the same things, hated the same things. He was a gentle kind passionate human being. He never saw himself in a selfish light. We always calmed each other down. I knew someday he would reach a plateau that he would be proud of... but GOD had a higher plateau for him. He is my hero, my family, my friend. I miss you more than words can say .......

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
