Thinking of you always. We miss you. You will always be my tower, standing so tall. And I will remember the beats that came from you, that are the background to my childhood.

Your niece,
Felicia

You taught me how to play congas and timbales. You gave me insight into percussion which will never be forgotten. My cousin, I miss your smile and the jokes you made that would crack my side! When you played ball, you were smooth. I remember looking up, seeing the sun shinning behind your silhouette, gracefully laying the ball in the basket, as you glided through the air! You were so cool and patient, just as you were that day, comforting others, so they would be strong—not afraid. You gave me inspiration because you knew ... when it was needed. Thank you! I miss you Cous—always!

This is the 7th year anniversary of your untimely departure, my dear friend. Why has it taken me so long to finally search for you here. I needed to do something to honor you and I thought that this day, seven years later, the number of spiritual perfect, that I had to look for you. As tears fall from my eyes again I remember your smile, your voice, your friendship. You were a part of our inner circle of friends and yet you gave so much to others, especially with your drumming. I notice that the comments here are not from anyone that really knew you so I'm thankful that I can be here to place a flower in remembrance of a great man. I love your brother that has been a good friend to my sister and family. Gregg has become a true spiritual warrior. As I realize that I'm still here I know that my task is not to carry a banner of hate, but somehow to be a healing agent for whatever caused this horrendous tragedy. To anyone that reads this, please, please know that Darryl was a man of peace, music and a ready smile ( and he could play the so well the African drums). The libation is now poured my brother. Until Christ's return, we have work to do.

While "surfing the web" tonight looking for a past love (25 yrs past whose name is Daryl Taylor) I came across this site and while it was down-loading I could not breathe. I was pleased to see it was not the same Darryl, then immediately saddended because he is no doubt many people's Darryl. I wanted to write this note and say thank you for loving Darryl and obviously he was a courageious man and he passed doing something for me and my family and I want to send my condolences to his friends and family whose Darryl he was and always will be in their and now mine hearts. Good Night and May God Bless You!

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
