I never even knew until days after the 9-11 attacks that there was a firefighter with a last name rarely known outside of Texas. It is an honor to claim that I am an Arce and that my distant cousin is a HERO. And when I saw his picture, I noticed that he distinctly resembles some of my relatives who live in Texas. My paternal grandmother's maiden name is "ARCE." The Arce name originates from Spain and is originally spelled "ARCIA." For what reason it was changed is unknown. May David be at our Lord's side and rest in peace eternally.

I just left a comment for Michael and I cannot leave one for Michael without leaving one for David. It just doesn't seem right. I hope you are at peace. I never met you, but feel as if I know you. Your mom is a wonderful woman. My favorite memory of David was finding out how he would play Secret Santa to needy children each Christmas. That is just one example of the fine young man named David Gregory Arce. God Bless!

I knew David when we were kids in St. Aloysius Elementary School. David was shy, smart, talented and very cute.We were friends and played the bugle for the same 2 drum corps..St.Aloysius Blue Eagles and St.Mattias Blue Max. I had a crush on David when we were about 10 years old but his family had moved to Westbury and I didn't see him after that. David liked to help people and is an inspiration for all.God Bless David and his family.Dave , we will meet again.
Love Susan

This man was a cousin of mine though I never had the honor of meeting him. It is a tragic way indeed to learn about an unknown cousin. David, as well as all firefighters and law enforcement personnel are heroes. May God Bless all of you. Rest in Peace, David.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.

This web site is affiliated with 24K Gold Music Shows - an oldies music showband performing in Central Florida. The members of the showband feel strongly that there were many heroes manifested during the onslaught of terror associated with 9-11, and present this site as a memorial to those whose lives were lost, and the loved ones they left behind.

24K Gold Music Shows perform primarily 50-60s Oldies, Elvis songs, DooWop, and older country music, as well as patriotic songs. All of the musicians, singers, dancers, and staff of the 24K Gold Music Shows extend their deepest sympathies to every one who lost loved ones on that terrible day.

24K Gold Music Shows performs an original song called "The Day America Cried", which is a 9-11 tribute song. In the live shows, they honor with the song not only the heroes of 9-11 but also those who are still alive: the police personnel, firefighters, emergency personnel, soldiers, and others who have served our country and kept us all safe.

Listen also to this beautiful, touching song "Love Can Build a Bridge" by 24K Gold Music Shows. Even though strictly speaking it's not a 9-11 memorial song, I still feel it is a very fitting song for the occasion!
