David sounds like a man who actually worked to make his life consonant with his Catholic education. Someone else on a blogsite lamented that the barbarians deprived him of knowing David. That is sadly true of David and all the other victims. I rejoice that heaven is real and someday I hope -- if I get there -- to meet him.

I miss you, Dave! You were full of life, full of joy, full of laughter. Your intensity was contagious, and I smile just thinking about you. I can't believe it's already been almost nine years. You're here in my heart, though, and everyone else's who knew you! Peace.

I remember David as being very intense. He would listen intently, he would talk intently, he would think intently. He never gave me a flip answer or comment to anything I said and I could always trust that he would speak from his heart. Shortly before he died we had an argument because I wanted to moan about something that of course I can no longer remember now. He annoyed me because he wouldn't let me get away with it. He would keep saying that is was" a great opportunity to learn and let go of anger". I wanted to be self-righteous and angry and petty. Of course I came to my senses eventually and made up with him.
The thing was, he did really try to practice what he preached, and I knew that in one area of his life that was particularly hard for him he walked the walk.
Shortly after I became very sick with Lyme disease. When David found out he was all action---what did I need, who would take care of me, what he could do. He was a true friend and I only knew him for the short seven months that he was here in New York. But I miss him and still get annoyed by his "ghost" telling me to quite rightly let things go and to pray for those who I resent. The last time I saw David was for brunch in the village 2 weeks before he died, listening and responding as intently as ever.I know he would not wish to be avenged by any war and so in his honor, I always will march for peace. Thank you David, for your message and short stay with us here. I will never forget you.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
