I was 14 years old during the 11th of September. At my high school, paper angels with the names of the 9/11 victims were put on the walls, and we were able to take one and wear it in memory. I pulled the name of David S. Suarez, and have never forgotten that name. I did not know this person, but he was my age now when he died. I am thinking of him and his family today, and will never forget. In memory and peace,
Lianne

We pray
We pray for David and all those lost that September day
We pray that their deaths may not have been in vain.
We pray that we may find healing
We pray that with healing we may find love in our hearts to forgive
We pray that forgiveness may bring growth
We pray that growth may bring discovery
We pray that discovery may bring understanding
We pray that understanding may bring compassion
We pray that healing, love, forgiveness, growth, discovery, understanding and compassion will help us live together
If we live together with faith in our ability to overcome our differences and hope for a better tomorrow, our prayers for David and all those who died that day will reach them
They will smile and know that they did not die in vain

Tomorrow will be Tuesday May 11, 2004. On this date 32 months ago, the world changed for all who lost loved ones in that horrible tragedy. I could say much about our son David who at age 24 had wisdom and a vision of life that far exceed his age. However, it is best if he speaks for himself. We are fortunate that David left us a short poem that truly presents the essence of who he was and what he stood for. This poem has now been translated in to over 90 languages and was read on the floor of the US House of Representatives on September 11, 2002
You are free
The air is cool,
The sky is dark,
Your muscles relax,
While nature’s breath fills your lungs
You have accomplished your tasks,
Felt the pain,
And endured the pressure,
A pressure so immense
That you lived to escape
You have climbed to the very peak of the mountain
And now relax on a rock,
High above the trees
While others sleep
You are enveloped by nature’s beauty
For just a moment you abandon your incarcerated body
Wholly relinquishing your ties to human nature
And for only an instant, you become part of God
You are free

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
