My dearest David,

I will never forget your jokes, your walk, your laugh....I will never forget the time I was eating a Vienna Sausage and you said "what are you eating" and I said what it was, and you just laughed away.....saying "I thought that what it was" I really feel so hurt that this happen to you, and never will forget you. Life is so strange, I will always, always remember you and love you....my dearest David......

I am Janina Medina. I did not know you but my mother, Maritza Medina did. She works with AIG and at the time worked on wall street. She was distraught when she heard of your death. She recalls sharing lunches with you and other coworkers. I know you are with the angels now. God Bless your soul.

I am the same age as you were when you passed away. You still had so many years left to see so many things. I am sorry that they were taken from you, and so many of us are still thinking of ways to honor all of you. I am doing a mile for each of you, and you were given mile #26. You're still remembered by so many of us.

Michelle

I came across the list of names today and saw we shared the same last name, and it isn't a common one, so I felt compelled to write. I didn't know him, but I'll remember him. May he rest in peace. My prayers go out to his family and to all the families that lost loved ones on that terrible day.

Dave, though our AIG days were years ago, they seem like just yesterday. You were a fixture in Treasury, with your unbounded energy and infectious laugh. You left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew you. May you rest in peace and know that you will never, ever be forgotten.

Just thinking about you today, Dave. Happy memories! Helene

Dave was a good friend, He was an example to us all of how we should live life; laugh often, embrace the day, a great father and son to his family. "A friend is one who comes in when the whole world had gone out." Thanks for being my friend. Miss you Dave, think of you often, and always smile.

I just found out today ( 09-11-03 ) through Newsday's obituaries that David was a victim of the WTC.  I knew David because we commuted together for a couple of years on the LIRR from the Broadway queens stop.  Then he moved a little east after that.  I'm so sorry for his family and for the world that misses such a friendly guy.  I'm truly sad about learning this today.  David is the only person I knew first hand who was killed that day.  I can't express the sorrow the way it feels.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
