Dennis, I never knew you, but my brother did. He served with you on the ERFD. You're a hero to me because you were a great father, husband, son, brother, firefighter, worker, and American. Our country is built on men and women who, like yourself, gave to others, helped the community, supported their families, and then gave the ultimate sacrifice on what should have just been another ordinary day at work. The world is not the same after your loss. God bless you and keep you until we can meet, finally, in heaven.

I have read so many wonderful things about the man/cousin I never got a chance to know. So many of you have sung his praises, about who he was and how he inspired you. The reasons behind why he and I never had the chance to be friends/family seem so frivolous and unfair now. Perhaps he did "know" of me as I "knew" of him and his family. We did after all grow up in the same town. That being the case, and Dennis being the caring, giving, selfless person those of you who knew him have described him as ... I would be willing to bet we have said a prayer or two for each other throughout our lifetimes. I will continue to pray for you, Dennis,... for who you were, for who strove to be, and for the example you set and hoped for others to achieve ... even though we never "met" ... in this lifetime.
Your cousin,
Edward D. Taormina (Formerly Edward D. Brown - 03/16/1966)

My name is Patrick Taormina, and I've been a Police Officer for over 25 years on the South Euclid Police Dept (Cleveland
area). My father, Philip, was from Brooklyn. I am at work, just finishing the Memorial Day weekend, and I somehow found my way to this website. Since this is the time of year to honor heroes, I wanted to pay my respects to Dennis, and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
Sincerely,
Sgt. P. Taormina

Mr. and Mrs. Taormina,
I don't know if you would remember me but I grew knew Dennis when we were kids. You knew my mom and dad down on Grant St.. I heard about Dennis a few years ago and I just found this site. I remember Dennis from school and when you baby sat for me a few times. Dennis and I would go up to the corner (four corners he called it) and play baseball. I didnt know him as an adult but I am sure he was the same nice person I knew as a kid and the world is less perfect now wothout him. He is now watching over your family and his kids as your angel.
I spent 3 weeks as a volunteer at the WTC in 2001 and Dennis will always be in my heart and never fogotten.
Sincerely,
Jim Perry

Dennis was our oldest son. We miss him so much. he was the perfect child, never gave us a day of hardship. He left us with two wonderful little girls who miss their daddy very much. Never a day goes by that his dad and I don't cry for him. The world will never be the same for us or for his widow or his three brothers. The world stopped for me on 9/11 and I don't think it will ever start again for me. I love you Dennis I need you and I am waiting till the time I can see your wonderful face once again. Soon we will be together again. Wait for me and dad. Love mom

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.
Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
