I just did the Colorado 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb today, and they gave out stickers with a name and picture of one of the fallen. I walked for Mr. Carey today, and was honored to do so. May he forever be in peace.

Thinking of you and your family!

We all grew up in East New York, Brooklyn. I was and still am best friends with Dennis' cousin Kathleen Becker Baierlein. I recently visited Kathleen in Florida, and she told me that Dennis lost his life in the 9-11 tragedy. I remember how handsome Dennis was—and what a sweetheart! I knew his brother, Joseph, and his mom, Aunt Grace. May he rest in peace.

I worked with and for Dennis from 1977 to 1979. When I was discharged from the Marine Corp in 1977 Dennis gave me a job with his roofing and cementing company. It was  generous and thoughtful of  him to give me a job, as I wasn't having much luck finding work.We both took the F.D.N.Y. test together. I chose to go to work for a transit bus company, while Dennis accepted the calling to be a fireman. I'll always remember how elated and proud he was when he found out he was hired.Dennis had a heart as big as the Grand Canyon and I often witnessed him lending aid or comfort to strangers, or to someone he knew or met in passing. His humor would put you in stitches. His love for his family was profound, deep, and without rival. I am blessed to have crossed paths with this GIANT of a man, who deserves the name HERO in his name for how he lived, how he loved, how he cared, how he gave, and most of all how he died. God Bless you Dennis. I salute you.
Respectfully,
Patty {Pasquale] Rosa

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!

9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner. We are maintaining this site with our own money and time. We try to keep the advertisements to a minimum and we try to make them as unobtrusive as possible. The revenue goes back to maintaining this site.

Thank you for your understanding in these matters.
