I was in New York with a friend during the memorial days of sept 11 2011. Diana Lipari was Dutch, so am I.I have thought of her in the memorialdays, saw her name on the flag, photographed her name passing on Times Square and looked for her name and found it, on the beautiful memorial on ground zero. Her story was on television in Holland, the first week of september 2011, and in it I saw her parents in an interview. How afwul it must have been that their daughter phoned home, after the first airplane had gone into the tower, to tell their parents she was safe, and when the parents put on CNN-television, they had to see the second plane hit the tower in which Diana thought herself to be safe. Heartbreaking story.

I had the pleasure of talking to Diane via telephone a couple of times; I worked the mortgage backed securities desk an Accountant for Ohio Savings Bank in Cleveland, Ohio. One day I must have called several people attempting to resolved an open issue and she heard the phones ringing in the office and apparently no one had answered so she came to my rescue. It was early in the morning and she was so full of joy and willing and ready to assist me. We shared a couple of moments regarding the weather in New York and Cleveland (like Americans always do; conversation piece). I asked her what floor was she on and she said if I remember the 112th floor and she had a big picture window view of New York and it was beautiful day! I find myself thinking of the visualizing the view that she described that day. THE VIEW IS BEAUTIFUL! Note: I do not remember the dealer/company that she worked for because I dealt with many dealers and spoke with many people. I remember Diane because of her directness and joyful voice.

I had the pleasure of meeting Diane while attending Wm. Pat.U...my girlfriend knew her as well and worked with her aunt in Ridgefield. I will always remember Dianes smile. She was always in the positive and never had a bad thing to say about others or life in general. May you rest in peace and God grant your family and friends the strength to go on. Memory Eternal!

Di is missed by so many who knew her and others who did not.
I know her brother Joe & sister-in-law Barb. The greatest people on this Earth. My heart hurts for the whole family but especially BJ and Joe.
Lord, please watch over Joe & BJ for me I don't want them to be alone.
Hugs,
Doris

Diane,

People always say that, with time, all wounds heal. I don't believe this to be true. It's only worse now.... Not a day goes by that we don't sit and think about you: We miss your smile, your laugh, your everything. Nothing has been the same since you left our sides, and nothing will be the same until we all meet again.... Know that we love and miss you so much....

Always,
Joseph and Barbara and the rest of the gang....

I didn't have the honor of knowing Diane. However, I do have the pleasure of knowing her niece, Jackie. I must say you would be proud of your niece. She is beautiful inside and out. She's a classic Jackie 0. :-) My thoughts go out to the Lipari family on such a devastating day, even 7 years later....

Diane,

It has been 7 years since we lost you. A lot has happened since then, and I wish you were here to give your great advice or to just listen. I see you in my dreams and cannot wait until the day that we meet again. I know we will have a lot to catch up on, and of course there will be great laughs and tears. You are still my best friend.

Love you,
Cathy

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
