I'm from Brazil! You are a hero who fought bravely in trying to save lives at the WTC. Rest in peace.

What a terrible tragedy! I am a French man, and I am hurt as all the Americans are because terrorism hurts everybody in the world, especially people who fight for peace.

Dominick was a great man and a true hero, and he will always be remembered as someone who wanted to save lives.

R.I.P.

When Mercy bracelets became available to honor the victims of 9-11, I asked for one naming a member of NYPD. The bracelet I received has Dominick's name on it, and it is worn every patriotic holiday as well as each September 1 as a reminder of the courage that we have as individuals and as a country. We are poorer for his loss.

You wanted to be remembered, these were your last words they say. You are remembered! Honor to a great hero and a good man, thank you Dominick.

Ilaria

Dominick's story has hit me hard. I feel so sad about the loss of such a precious life of a great, heroic man. I'm touched by his selfless acts. I never knew him, but will never, for as long as I live, forget what he did. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones. May he be an inspiration to us all—a true hero.

Love,
Jessica

I did not know Dominick, but I do know he was a hero. For a wonderful person whose journey was cut short, to you, Dominick Pezzulo.

Brother firefighter—

I went there to help and thought I was in Viet Nam—you and your family and brothers are in our prayers.

Oh, man, you are a real hero! God bless you! I saw the movie. Right now I can't stop crying!

Dominick Pezzulo was a very good person. He was a friend of Will Jimeno and Antonio Jose Rodrigues. I saw the movie "World Trade Center" by Oliver Stone, and I cried. God bless Dominick Pezzulo.

I knew Dominick in P.S.106 and P.S.127. We grew up together on McClay and Parker St for 16 years. May you rest in peace, and I hope for all the best for your family. You let the world know what kind of man you are, and you will be remembered.

Just days after 9/11, the Burbank fire dept started selling bracelets with the names of those officers and firefighters who gave their lives to help others. I randomly chose Dominick. I've worn this bracelet and will continue to do so every year to remember him. I feel a bond with him and his family, praying every day for their well-being, and I hope that they have found happiness and joy.

I am twelve, and I just watched the film, "World Trade Center," and I googled the name Dominick Pezzulo, and I found this site. I never heard of Dominick until Extreme Makeover Home Edition, and it made me watch the "World Trade Center" film, and I saw his courage, and all I can say is that his courage and Antonio Rodrigues' was ... It had me in tears. God bless you, Dominick. May you live in God's heaven forever and rest in all eternity. R.I.P., Dominick.

I just finished watching the movie, "World Trade Center," and I just picked out a name and did a search, and this is the name I picked. I guess, like many, I never realized the sacrifices some make to save others. I will make a promise to never forget that now. I will also say a prayer each night and ask God to comfort the families of those left behind and grant peaceful rest to those that gave the ultimate sacrifice so others may live. Thanks police and firefighters for all you do. For the families that lost loved ones, I will ask God to grant you comfort and peace as well. They will never be forgotten.

Dominick Pezzulo was my uncle, as was Antonio Rodrigues. He was a great man and unfortunately died doing what he loved, saving people. He would have done anything to have kept going in the towers. He really wanted to save the victims. WE LOVE YOU, UNCLE DOM!

Brother, I didn't know you in life. I wish I would have had the chance. I just wanted to thank you for putting the safety and welfare of other people before yours. You truly set a example for your fellow brothers who wear a badge. We will keep it untarnished and try to live up to your sacrifice.

Post your memorial thoughts:

Share your feelings and memories of grief and sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories.  If you knew this person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with us something about his/her life:

  • what kind of person he/she was,
  • what nice points you remember about him/her,
  • what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
  • what you two perhaps did together,
  • what he/she meant to you,
  • or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging for other people.

This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.

Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
