Lauren and Jeannine I just read your story in People. Im at work crying. As the years pass we tend to want to put bad memories behind us. However, we can never forget that day and I really reflected on and appreciated your quote "We should never forget what happened to us the day our world changed". You are both so strong and beautiful! My thoughts and prayers are with you both. Thank you for sharing your story.<3

We grew up across the street from the McIntyre family in Roseland, NJ. His whole family were great loving people. We shared a lot of fun with, his dad Jack would always be coming home from fishing trips and share the catch with the neighbors on the BBQ, so being kids at the time, we would hang out in his driveway and wait for him. :} God Bless you guys. V Paruta Jr.

I didn't know Donald McIntyre, but I noticed his name on a 9/11 memorial flag at my office. I just became an officer with the California Highway Patrol, and to see someone with my last name giving his life serving his country and his community really made me think. I have no connection to New York or the east coast, but please know that we on the west coast will always remember and respect those who gave their lives. And now I feel a personal connection to one of the heroes of 9/11. Just know that there is another McIntire serving the people and keeping them safe.

Mackey was our very close friend growing up on Sickles St. We all hung out together having fun. McIntyre was a great person to be around, and will always be missed. Donald and his family will always be in our hearts and prayers.

I worked with Mackie ( that's what the crew over at the Bowery Savings bank at 34th street called him) I was his supervisor. We would hang out after work and make fun of each others nationality. He was an usher at my wedding (1983). Both my husband and I worked with him and loved him very much. Even though we lost touch over the years, he memories in our wedding book always told a funny, warm and loving story about Donald. When I heard of his death my heart went out to his family, I knew he was a wonderful and loving father and husband. I shall always carry him in my heart

Donald James was my 2nd cousin on my mothers side. My mother was very close to her cousins and therfore my relationship with Donald was the sort you would have with a first cousin.
I miss Donald James's smile. When we would see each other at a wedding or some other family function he always would greet me with "how are you sweetheart". I can still hear his voice in my head, with his thick NY accent.
9/11 was a horrible day, and my thoughts as I was watching the events unfold still can't be described. I didn't find out for 3 days that Donald James was even in the building, and when I was told, all I could say was,"but he didn't work there".
My hope is that Janine and the kids will always know how much he was loved and how fortunate they were to have had him in their life, however brief it was.

Post your memorial thoughts:
Share your feelings and memories of grief and
sadness concerning the 9-11-2001 attack, or of positive memories. If you knew this
person, help us to build a small 'bio' of the person and share with
us something about his/her life:
- what kind of person he/she was,
- what nice points you remember about him/her,
- what kind of relationship you had with him/her,
- what you two perhaps did together,
- what he/she meant to you,
- or other things about him/her might be especially encouraging
for other people.
This web site is intended solely as a means of allowing all of us to express our grief and sympathy in behalf of the people who lost their lives, and also our love and compassion towards those who lost loved ones and friends in the 9/11/01 tragedy. The site is strictly for memorial mentions of those who passed away in the tragedy, not of other people who have passed away.
Our hearts are very touched with concern in behalf of those people, and it is to them that we dedicate this web site. It is not our intent to venture into the realms of WHO should face judgement, to take responsibility for those terrible events, because we have no way of knowing for sure who all might fall into that category. Therefore, any letters or notes written passing judgment upon any person or group will not be published on this site. We do NOT want this site to be a base for expressions of hatred, but only for expressions of LOVE!
9-11Heroes.us is a personal effort, not a business, nor is the site dedicated to any specific person or persons. We will not post negative comments. Moreover, 9-11Heroes.us reserves the right to choose which comments to post and also to edit the comments for spelling, punctuation, grammar, or edit comments that are unkind or offensive in some manner.
